Marg Krim is a supporting antagonist in the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, first appearing as a supporting character in the Dark Disciple novel and later serving as the main antagonist of the Martez Sisters Arc. He is the new leader of the Pyke Syndicate following the death of Lom Pyke and a member of Darth Maul's Shadow Collective.
Biography[]
Following Lom Pyke's death at the hands of Count Dooku, Marg Krim became the leader of the Pyke Syndicate. He was responsible for overseeing the production and distribution of Spice from the Pyke homeworld of Oba Diah. He also maintained the Pyke Syndicate's position within the rogue Sith Lord Maul's Shadow Collective, an alliance of criminal syndicates that opposed both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Krim had a wife named Tezzka Krim and two children named Laalee and Vram. He also employed a majordomo named Fife who occasionally acted as liaison between him and Maul.
Dark Disciple[]
At some point, the leader of the Black Sun Ziton Moj approached Marg Krim with a proposal to merge their respective syndicates. When Krim refused, Moj kidnapped his family and took them to the Black Sun's stronghold on Mustafar. Knowing that some of his men were sympathetic to the idea of a merger, the Pyke leader decided to hire the Nightsister Asajj Ventress and the undercover Jedi Quinlan Vos to rescue his family. The two bounty hunters successfully infiltrated the Black Sun's stronghold and rescued Krim's family. The Pyke leader rewarded them with twice their original bounty but after the two hunters left, the Black Sun's armada arrived on Oba Diah to retaliate.
The Clone Wars Season 7[]
Marg Krim and majordomo Kinash Lock hired Rafa Martez to deliver a spice shipment from Kessel to Oba Diah. Upon learning that their delivery was headed towards the Pykes, Rafa's sister Trace dumped the shipment into hyperspace. When they reached Oba Diah, Rafa's friend and former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano used a mind trick on Krim to convince him to give them their payment without checking to see if the shipment had actually arrived. A suspicious Fife then checked the shipment containers and found that there was no spice. He promptly ordered the Pyke's patrol ships to cut off the trio's escape.
Ahsoka and Rafa were incarcerated while the Pykes tortured Rafa for the spice's location. The trio would escape captivity but were quickly found by Fife's men. Following another unsuccessful escape attempt, the three girls were brought back to their cells. Ahsoka then proposed a deal where Krim ould allow the Martez sisters to travel off-world to retrieve the spice while she remained on Oba Diah as insurance. Krim agreed but concurred with Fife's assertion that the girls were attempting to deceive them again. He also admitted that he had to retrieve the lost spice at any cost lest he face fatal repercussions from his Maul. Krim later informed the rogue Sith Lord of the spice shipment "delay" to which the Sith Lord reprimanded him for his failure. The Pyke leader explained that the complications were a result of the Republic's crackdowns on his operations on Coruscant. Maul ordered Krim to ensure no future delays, citing Crimson Dawn's takeover of his spice operation as a potential consequence. Krim and Fife later confronted Ahsoka who had discovered that Maul was on Mandalore after eavesdropping on the earlier conversation. Despite using the force, Ahsoka was apprehended yet again. Krim decides to execute the former Jedi just as the Martez sisters return. After revealing the truth about her Jedi background to the sisters, Ahsoka activated the detonators she placed earlier in the Pyke's stronghold. After using the explosions as a cover to escape the Pyke's stronghold, the trio narrowly escape the Pyke's patrol ships and leave Oba Diah.
During the Siege of Mandalore, Maul contacts Krim, Moj, and Crimson Dawn's leader Dryden Vos via hologram. He orders the syndicate leaders to go into hiding in preparation for the Clone Wars' impending end and the rise of the Galactic Empire.
