Marianne Bryant is the main antagonist of the 2010 teen comedy film Easy A. She is a judgmental, overzealous Christian and leader of the Cross Your Heart Club. Her best friend is fellow Christian, Nina, and her boyfriend is Micah.
She was portrayed by Amanda Bynes, who also played on Penelope Tyant and Judge Trudy both on The Amanda Show.

Marianne Bryant was raised by her parents in a fundamentalist Christian household; her parents even own a church in which her father is a pastor. She goes to church and prays often. At school she is the president of Cross your Heart Club. The club tries to get more members by dealing out flyers and preaching Christianity on the schoolyard. They are very influential at school; they even changed the school's mascot from "The Blue Devil" to "The woodchucks".
Marianne hears Olive talking to her best friend Rhiannon about how she had sex with a guy named George. Without knowing that Olive had just lied, Marianne spreads the rumor around at school, making everyone thinking Olive is a slut. Olive confronts Marianne but she says that there is a "higher power" that will judge Olive.
Later she has a meeting with her club where she talks about Olive being a problem and that she has to save her. She says that it is hard to follow Jesus' word about loving everyone, even prostitutes and homosexuals, because they keep doing "it" over and over again. After that Olive sees Marianne crying and goes to comfort her. Marianne and Olive then become "friends" because Marianne thought she had finally come through to Olive. Their friendship doesn't last long though, because Micah lies to his mom that he got chlamydia from Olive, which Marianne gets furious about. Believing that Olive gave Micah chlamydia Marianne collects her club and Rhiannon together and then protest about getting Olive expelled. In the end, Marianne learns that all of the rumors surrounding Olive aren’t true after seeing her webcast, so she gives up on trying to "save" Olive and starts questioning her own life.
