“ | To my esteemed members of Marionette Enterprises I bid you... hello. If you'd be so kind as to pass your mission folders to one another, you'll find pertinent information on each of your targets. Now I know it might feel like cheating to know what cards the other side is holding, but we can ill afford to lose. Not now. Not when we're this close to bringing Metropolis to its knees and getting what we deserve. And with the help of our newest associate, we'll finally take control of the Metropolis aquifer. We will bleed their pockets dry until the parched populace is dancing for us like puppets on a string. In fact, she's taking care of The Blur right now. We are going to have SO MUCH FUN!! | „ |
~ Winslow Schott to the assembled Marionette Ventures. |
Marionette Ventures is an organization in the CW TV show Smallville, appearing once in the tenth season. The organization comprises of various supervillains that sought to destroy The Blur, the Justice League, and take over Metropolis.
History[]
Created by the criminal Toyman, Winslow Schott recruited several other villains that held a grudge against a certain superhero. Their plans were for financial gain, but their activities soon attracted the attention of the Watcher Network and their agents.
The Toyman used a brainwashed Courtney Whitmore do his organization's bidding; by his mind control diodes to do their bidding, attacking several shop owners in order to force them to sell. They began buying out various small businesses in order to to control the water front properties. He later brainwashed Lois Lane remotely in an attempt to kill Clark Kent by using a star-shaped mind device. By threatening to send his minions to attack a depowered Clark, Lois chose to wear the star device in order to save him.
The villains had a meeting in an undisclosed location where Schott spoke to everyone on a TV screen because he was incarcerated. The villains sat at a round table with files. As the Watchtower agents posed a threat to their plans, Schott assigned each villain a file to kill a certain Superhero. He also announced their plans to take control of Metropolis through its water supply. Schott proclaimed they were going to have so much fun before ending the transmission laughing manically. They managed to control Lois Lane, but her love for him was able to stall Lois enough so he can receive his abilities back once it was sundown.
Clark helped Lois manage to resist Toyman's programming and returned to normal. All assignments eventually failed and Marionette Ventures soon disbanded. After the ordeal was done, Clark paid Toyman a visit to tell him that he will always be there to stop him and his allies.
