F-ck off you prick!
~ Mark to Will.

Mark Donovan is the secondary antagonist of the E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners and a minor antagonist in the 2011 film The Inbetweeners Movie, the first installment in the Inbetweeners film duology.

He is the lead school bully and the archenemy of Will McKenzie.

He was portrayed by Henry Lloyd-Hughes, who also played Aaron Peel in Killing Eve.

Biography[]

Series[]

Mark is the school's lead bully and is an incredibly violent, psychopathic and wrathful puerile delinquent who frequently abuses Will, Simon, Jay and Neil in several ways. However, his primary target is Will due to his relationship with his love interest Charlotte however he does occasionally go for other people as well such as the French exchange student Patrice who he brutally beat after seeing him in bed with Charlotte. He has been shown to have a perverted attraction to Will's mother Polly and pretends to be friendlier whenever she is near him.

Nobody ever stops Mark's bullying not even teachers such as Mr. Gilbert who do not care about their own students. The students themselves are usually terrified of Mark however they have stood up to him on a few occasions forcing him to back down from his attacks.

Mark also becomes a drug addict and dealer later in the Season 3 in The Gig and the Girlfriend upon discovering marijuana.

Films[]

Mark makes his final appearance in the first movie and goes out with a bang after giving Will a wedgie so intense that it tears his underwear, in a final attempt for vengeance. He fails, however, as Carli and Rachel arrive and tell him to stop and grow up. He has not been seen in the franchise since.
