Biography[]
Early Life[]
Marsh was born a Skaa, and was persecuted by the Final Empire. He was initially the leader of the Skaa rebellion, though later retired. He disliked his younger brother Kelsier, who focused on stealing from nobles rather than fighting for justice. Marsh was in love with a woman named Mare, but she married Kelsier instead of him.
The Final Empire[]
Vin tried to scam Marsh. As Marsh was a Seeker, he could sense she was a Mistborn, and informed his brother Kelsier about her. Marsh reluctantly agreed to help Kelsier overthrow The Lord Ruler by trying to infiltrate the Inquisitors. The Inquisitors aproved of Marsh and turned him into an Inquisitor. Kelsier mistakenly thought Marsh was dead and destroyed the Pits of Hathsin as revenge. When Vin defeated The Lord Ruler, Marsh killed the other Inquisitors.
The Well of Ascension[]
Marsh started ot be controlled by Ruin. He led Sazed to a metal inscription, in order to trick Vin into freeding Ruin
The Hero of Ages[]
Marsh was fully under Ruin's control, and would capture allomancers and feruchemists, kill them, and take their powers via Hemalurgy. Marsh would occasionally try to fight Ruin's control, but to no avail. Marsh battled against Vin at Kredik Shaw, and in a last show of self-control, ripped out Vin's earring so Ruin could not control her, and Presevervation could enter her. Ruin then took control of Marsh again. At the battle of Hathsin, Marsh killed Elend. This caused Vin to sacrifice herself to kill Ruin, thereby freeing Marsh.
Post-Catacendre[]
Marsh became an agent of Harmony. He was immortal by compounding atium. The population of Scadrial believed him to be the embodiment of death, and ironically called him by his old nickname "Iron Eyes". He was even worshipped by a religion known as Sliverism. Against Harmony's wishes, he revealed the truth about Hemalurgy to Waxillium Ladrian.
