Marta is a minor antagonist of the 1983 epic crime drama film Scarface.
She was portrayed by Barbara Perez.
Biography[]
Marta appeared for the first, and only time at the beginning of the film, when the protagonist, Tony Montana, went to make a deal with the Colombian drug lord, Hector the Toad. She appears to be Hector's girlfriend and maybe even his wife, but when Tony arrived at the place, she was seen lying on the bed, apparently watching the drug deal.
However, when Tony seems to refuse to give Hector the drugs, suddenly a group of people appear and break into the place; both Tony and his colleague, Angel Fernandez, are taken hostage just as Marta takes out an Ingram MAC-10 submachine gun that she had hidden. Marta then proceeds to turn up the volume of the TV as she watches Hector brutally killing Angel with his chainsaw, and then attempts to kill Tony in the same fate.
But before that could happen, however, Tony's best-friend Manny Ribera, and his fellow associate Chi-Chi, arrived at the place to save Tony from his death. A shootout takes place as Manny instantly shoots Marta before she could react, killing her as a result. The shootout ended with Tony killing Hector in the street, shortly after he and his friends eliminated all of Hector's henchmen.
