Martha is a minor antagonist of the adult animated black comedy-web series Helluva Boss. She is the wife of Ralphie and the mother of her two unnamed children. While seen as a lovely wife by the public, she and her family are actually homicidal maniacs who kill others.
She was voiced by Jinkx Monsoon in the English version who also played Emerald in Steven Universe, Earl of Lemongrab in Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake and Maestro in Doctor Who.
Biography[]
She is first seen (although off-screen) in a flashback where Mrs. Mayberry uses her computer to video call her husband, only to find him with Martha in bed. Mayberry goes home and kills her husband, tries to kill Martha, then ultimately kills herself when she realizes what she's done and traumatized her students. Unfortunately, Martha survived the attack and became a hero because of the incident, she received two million dollars and appeared on talk shows, making her own family rich.
Mayberry hires I.M.P. to go to the living world and kill Martha. Blitzo, Moxxie and Millie arrived at a Lakeside home where Martha lives and sees her with the target's family having dinner. Moxxie asks Blitzo about what they're doing and knocks the rifle, causing Blitzo to miss, the family hears the gunshot and arms themselves that were stashed under the dinner table. While Blitzo and Moxxie flee from the house, the family chases after them, with Martha going after Blitzo and the children going after Moxxie.
After knocked out by the children, Moxxie wakes up and tied to a chair and sees the room of taxidermied of pieces human remains and skin on the walls, along with a roasted human on the table, revealing the family to be cannibals. Martha chases Blitzo through the forest and captures him after he gets a phone call from Stolas. Later, after the husband Ralphie defeats Millie in a brief fight, she and Blitzo are tied up to a stake and attempts to burn them alive to return them to Hell.
However, both of them are immune to fire and mocks Martha and Ralphie's efforts. Before Martha can kill both Blitzo and Millie, she is shot in the back of the head by Moxxie, killing her in the process, and Ralphie flees from the scene and back to the house with his children, where they are seemingly killed by the police.
Martha makes a cameo in "Apology Tour", being the first person Blitzo tries to "apologize" to in order to prove a point to Stolas. He goes to her house, and gives her a basket filled with treats. Blitz then sees that Mrs. Mayberry with a towel over her body leaving the bed of Martha's house, meaning that Mrs. Mayberry and Martha are likely dating, with Martha closing the door on him.
Personality[]
At first, Martha was shown to be a dishonest suck-up, who willingly engaged in sex with a married man and after surviving the assault from his wife, used false sympathy for her to gain money and a glamorous reputation in the world of the living. This lead to her practically stealing Mayberry's life and enjoying a prosperous and indulgent life with her husband and two children.
If that wasn't bad enough, Martha and her family turned out to be even more twisted. As it is revealed that they were all barbaric, sadistic killers and cannibals, who hid under the cover of a loving and innocent family. After Blitzo attempted and failed to kill her, Martha and her husband quickly showed their true nature and attempted to kill Blitzo and Millie, while their children would keep Moxxie as a toy/critter for them to "play with" or in other words torture. It is unknown whether she was the one responsible for her family becoming so depraved, or if they were all just monsters all along. Regardless, Martha's reveal proved Moxxie to never assume the sweetness and supposed innocence of humans and that appearances can be deceiving at first glance.
By the time of "Apology Tour", it's revealed Martha has gotten adjusted to her life in Hell, as she initially opens the door to her house in a polite demeanor before souring after recognizing Blitzo, implying she still holds grudge towards him for taking part in her death. That being said, she does accept his "apology" and the gift basket that came with it. Martha also appears to be living with Mrs. Mayberry despite the two screwing over each other's lives, confirming to Blitzo with a smug smile once he sees her coming out of the shower in her house. This seemingly confirms that being in Hell has, surprisingly, mellowed Martha out and made her a somewhat better person, or at the very least prevented her from being as violent as she was in the past.
At first glance, one would assume Martha and her family would be "happy and wholesome", as Moxxie described. In reality, Martha and her family are homicidal maniacs who worship Satan and his "dark work". She also appears to partake in cannibalism and human flaying with her family. She is shown to sleep with other men many times, though it is unclear if she had an open relationship or if she used it to lure in victims or was simply unfaithful.
Despite being a Satanist, Martha has a poor understanding of how Hell works as she was unaware that earthly fire could not kill nor banish demons, which she realized after trying to set Millie and Blitzo aflame.
As a sinner demon in Hell, Martha seems to have moved on in her afterlife. When Blitzo visits her, Martha is unhappy to see Blitzo but does not show direct animosity toward the imp. Another sign of this change is her living with Mrs. Mayberry, despite their sour relations in the past; her comment after Blitzo gave Mrs. Mayberry a look implied they were in a relationship.

- It was mentioned that she has also made a ton of cash with her own talk shows and donations that she does.
- Martha's voice actor, Jinkx Monsoon, originally recorded their lines remotely in Portland, Oregon.
- After Martha was killed by Moxxie, Martha became a demon in Hell, which is shown during the episode "Apology Tour" where she is seen living with Mrs. Mayberry. It is implied that they are in a relationship, based on Martha's comments after Blitzo gave her a knowing look. Them being in a relationship and/or attracted to each other was also suggested by their appearance as a 2025 Valentine's Day "Couple Keychain".
- It is shown in "Loo Loo Land" that Blitzo keeps Martha's eye in a jar in his office as a memento.
- Martha is confirmed to be bisexual in the Helluva Boss pride merch 2025.
