Acts of goodness are not always wise, and acts of evil are not always foolish, but regardless, we shall always strive to be good.
~ Martyr Logarius, from the Gold Ardeo description.

Martyr Logarius is a supporting antagonist and optional boss in the 2015 videogame Bloodborne.

Biography[]

Logarius was once the head of the Executioners, a fanatical partition of the Healing Church dedicated to destroying the Cainhurst family for their unholy use of allegedly tainted blood. At some point during his genocidal crusade, he discovered a "vile secret" within the Cainhurst Castle. Donning the Crown of Illusions, Logarius took it upon himself to guard it against any who may try to uncover it for all eternity.

If the player enters into the Forsaken Cainhurst Castle, they will find Logarius on the roof, still sitting on his throne as a near corpse. Upon noticing the approaching Hunter, he becomes active and grabs his scythe. During the first phase of the battle, Logarius will tend to stand away from the player, only slashing his scythe and sword at the player when they come too close. While far enough, he uses multiple arcane spells to attack the player, such as a homing orb and a delayed explosion that takes the form of a skull.

Once Logarius reaches 70% of his health, the second phase begins, and he becomes much more aggressive. He starts by charging a large AoE that buffs his weapons with arcane, although backstabbing him with a charge attack prevents him from doing this. He can now levitate, and charges at the player fast while swinging his scythe and sword, occasionally using spells when there is a gap between him and the player. Eventually, he will implant his sword in the ground to two-hand his scythe. As the sword is implanted, clouds of knives will be summoned that home in on the player. The sword can be destroyed by attacking it. Once Logarius goes down, he drops the Crown of Illusions, allowing the player to enter the passageway to encounter Annalise, the queen of Vilebloods.
