Mask of Malice

The Mask of Malice is an antagonist in the 2013 LEGO Ninjago tie-in/prequel comic Stone Cold. He is an old enemy of Master Wu.

Biography[]

At some point the Mask of Malice was defeated in battle by Master Wu and was imprisoned in the Tower of Tears along with several other villains. Sometime later, Lord Garmadon destroyed the tower, setting the Mask free and ordering the Mask to go after Wu and defeat him.

After his fight with Gahrann the Dreamer, Wu decided to find and defeat his old enemies by himself instead of waiting for them to attack him. The Mask of Malice was the final enemy he faced. However, instead of fighting Wu, the Mask decided to reveal to him who was responsible for setting the villains free and told him to look into a mirror. Wu, following the Mask's advice, went to a nerby village where he found a mirror and, upon looking into it, was greeted by his brother Lord Garmadon, the person responsible for setting his old enemies free. After Wu shattered and repaired the mirror, he witnessed several of the future enemies he will have to face, which prompted him to look for the ninja.

After Wu finished telling the story of why he truly formed their ninja team, the Mask of Malice was seen falling next to a tree with it's eyes glowing.

Trivia[]

The Mask of Malice along with Gahrann the Dreamer and the Insect Master are the only villains in the comic to have escaped defeat at the hands of Sensei Wu and the few villains in the Ninjago universe that are yet to be fully defeated.
The Mask of Malice is the only villain in the comic whose gender is never specified, therefore it's unknown if it's meant to be male or female or just has no gender at all.
Due to the Mask of Malice telling Wu to look for a mirror, which in turn led to Wu seeing all of the villains he will have to face in the future and finding the ninja, the Mask is indirectly responsible for the majority of the show's events.
