| ~ Mason Carter running slave auction. |
Mason Carter is a minor antagonist in the third installment of the Mafia franchise, Mafia III. He is a high-ranking member of the Southern Union, who runs human trafficking racket as slave auctioneer for the organization.
His voice actor is unknown.
Biography[]
Mason Carter joined Southern Union and became a high-ranking member, and personal auctioneer for Chester Moreau, who traded black people as slaves to wealthy whites, as a business operation in Frisco Fields.
In 1968, Carter held an auction on Moreau's behalf at Bellaire's Supermarket, which was used as a front for their human trafficking business, protected by his own men. As Mason showed the buyers the "products", he explained that they had extensive experience as slaves, not listening to the slaves' pleas.
Unbeknownst to him, Lincoln Clay, seeking revenge against the Marcano crime family, with whom Southern Union happens to have alliances, primarily with Olivia Marcano, had set his sights on destroying Southern Union's businesses. Lincoln stormed the building, killing Carter's bodyguards, and defeated him, then held him at knifepoint. Lincoln asked him where the other slaves were, Carter gave him their location, then asked Lincoln to "make it quick," and Lincoln mockingly thanked Carter before slitting his throat, killing him.
Later, after his death, Southern Union is weakened and as a result, Chester Moreau put bounty on Lincoln's head for $500, hiding in Bellaire's Supermarket, however, Moreau met the same fate as Carter, dying at the hands of Lincoln.
