Master Xuan is the overarching antagonist of Ku Hai's adventurer story in Dragalia Lost.
Biography[]
Master Xuan was the mentor of Haoran and Ku Hai. He taught them everything they know. He had saved them when they were young and they looked up to him and followed him afterward. However, unknown to them, he was the reason they were in trouble in the first place.
Master Xuan had hired bandits to round up fiends to set loose on towns. After that, he would have Haoran and Ku Hai go to slay the fiends. With this, he is praised as a hero.
One day, Haoran found out the truth. Devastated by this, Haoran confronted Master Xuan and attempted to convince him to change. Infurated that Haoran discovered his secret, Xuan attacked him. Haoran managfes to defeat him, but he ends up killing him by accident in doing so. This causes Haoran to become remorseful, choosing not to tell Ku Hai the truth and leave the dojo to atone for his crimes he commited while following Xuan.
The bandits who worked for Xuan would attempt to hunt Haoran down for putting them out of a job while Ku Hai is hunting him down to learn why he killed Xuan. Eventually, Ku Hai meets one of the bandits and learns the truth of his master for himself. Afterward, he gets the Halidom to look into his master, and they are able to confirm the bandit to be telling the truth. Realizing Haoran didn't intend to kill Xuan, Ku Hai declares that he would one day find Haoran to apologize.
