The Matricidal Child is a child who attempted to kill his mother in the Cyanide and Happiness skit: "Mother's Day Cake".

He is voiced by an "Avery".

Biography

The skit begins with an unkempt woman smoking a cigarette in what appears to be her living room. Suddenly, her son approaches with a pink cake and tells her "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" The camera zooms in on the smiling child and the cake he is holding. The woman tells him that Mother's Day cakes aren't a thing. He then attempts to protests, but all his mother does in response puts her cigarette out on the cake and then blow cigarette smoke onto his face.

The child walks away with a sad look on his face and murmurs "She's too smart for me". After saying this, he dumps the cake into the garbage. However, right before he does so, a box of rat poison and a bottle of an unknown poison is shown in the garbage as well—revealing that he had poisoned the cake and had just attempted to kill his mother by offering it to her.

Appearance

The child has light brown hair, fair skin, and a light-blue shirt.

Personality

In the beginning of the skit, the child appears to have a kind-hearted and innocent personality—baking his mother a cake and wishing her a "Happy Mother's Day" with a cheerful smile.

At the end of the skit, it was revealed that the child has a much darker personality than what first appears to be the case, as it is revealed that the cake he baked his mother was actually poisoned and that he has just attempted to kill her with it.

Now, due to the fact that his mother appears to be an extremely neglectful (and possibly also abusive) parent, it is unclear whether the child is truly a murderous psychopath or if he is just an extremely damaged little boy who has had enough of his mother's treatment of him.
