Maximilian Zeus, also known as Maxie Zeus, is a minor antagonist in the Batman: Arkham franchise.
History[]
Origin[]
Maxie's past is totally unknown, so there is not much information about his childhood, youth and his family ties that he formed before his mental instability that caused him to believe one of the gods of Greek mythology which was Zeus, his reach reached such a level that he dressed as the mythological god until it was even believed that he could launch lightning from his hands but his great leadership and words made him get several followers in Gotham who made him several cults and committed crimes and atrocities in his name, all these situations caused him to be arrested and due to his split personality he would be taken to the Arkham asylum there he would be given electroshock treatments by Dr. Penelope Young and Dr. Warren but none of these treatments made him recover his True identity.
Assault on Arkham[]
His possessions such as his Greek clothes and his trench coat were put in the nearby warehouse for intensive treatment, as evidenced by King Shark finding them in one of the boxes there.
Arkham Asylum and Arkham City[]
After the Joker's assault on the asylum, Maxie escaped along with other inmates including Two Face, Catwoman, Riddler, Etc. This would not last long as he would be arrested again and taken to Arkham City by Dr. Hugo. Strange who allowed him to open his own nightclub on the island which he directed until being subjected to electroshock treatments by Dr. Strange which leaves his status totally unknown but it is known that his club would continue even in his absence.

His profile in Batman: Arkham Asylum states: Maxie Zeus is a deranged gang leader, who believes himself to be an avatar of the Olympian god Zeus. He created a cult of gang members to do his bidding, and became a power in the Gotham City criminal underworld. His criminal activities are performed by his army of loyal followers, and, as he believes, overseen by the Greek gods themselves.
Trivia[]
- Maxie Zeus does not appear in Batman: Arkham Asylum, but his biography appears after being unlocked in his cell, decorated with symbols from ancient Greece (as well as an Egyptian eye of Ra, for some reason), which can be found behind a hidden wall. in the Patient Pacification Chamber.
- Even though Maxie Zeus does not appear in Batman: Arkham City, his nightclub called "Gotham City Olympus" does.
