~ Maxum Man Impersonator

The Maxum Man Impersonator is an unnamed villain from the Teletoon animated series, Sidekick. He is an impersonator, who pretended to be Maxum Man, so that he could live in the Maxum Mansion and get all the fame and glory of being a superhero, without really doing much superhero work, himself. He appeared in "The Maxum Switcheroo".

Like the real Maxum Man, The Maxum Man Impersonator is voiced by Ron Pardo.

Biography[]

In "The Maxum Switcheroo", there was a news report that announced Maxum Man saved a basket full of kittens from a bunch of hungry sharks in the Splittsboro Stadiu,. Eric was overjoyed to hear this news, as it now meant that Maxum Man was back from his long unexplained absence. He went home to the Maxum Mansion that day to discuss the good news with Maxum Brain. When Maxum Man showed up in the Maxum Mansion, he was acting very strange, demonstrating laziness, rudeness, and incompetence. Maxum Man was eating a SwellBurger and didn't seem to remember Eric's name, not even seeming to remember having a sidekick. When the alarm went off, alerting him to a crime in progress, Maxum Man seemed very exasperated with the fact that he'd have to do actual work and he reluctantly took Eric with him, still not remembering his name.

Maxum Man drove his motorcycle down to the scene of the crime, taking Eric with him and saw that there was a runaway toxic waste truck driving down the streets. Eric suggested that Maxum Man use his super strength to compress the truck into a harmless cube, which would be the ideal method of stopping it but Maxum Man had a better idea. He went into the nearby SwellBurger restaurant, stole one of the grease traps, and dumped a bunch of grease all over the streets. This caused an oil slick for the the truck, making it swerve off the road and crash into the SwellBurger restaurant, blowing it up and causing quite a bit of collateral damage to the city. Despite this, he was still praised for his heroism, also by Eric's friends, Trevor, Kitty, and Vana. Maxum Man blew all of these guys off and took his motorcycle back home, leaving Eric behind.

Back at the Maxum Mansion, Eric ironed Maxum Man's outfit and he got a call from Maxum Mom, wanting to talk to her son. Maxum Man told Eric to tell Maxum Mom that he was dead, not wanting to talk to her. Maxum Man later came in with another one of his super suits and rudely demanded Eric to iron it. Eric noticed something fishy, when he saw that the size of the suit was a 52 regular, when Maxum Man is actually a 56 long. This got him to suspect that the man living with him right now is an impersonator.

Eric and Trevor staged a situation for Maxum Man to handle, to see if he was really who he claimed to be. This was leaving a baby doll on a construction site to make it look like an endangered little girl. Things got out of hand, when a real little girl climbed up on the building to save her doll, putting her at risk of harm. Eric climbed up there after her to stop her, which only got himself in danger too. To make matters worse, Trevor smashed the metal ibeam they were on with a wrecking ball, thinking Eric was sending out a signal, and the three of them plummeted to their dooms. Just then, Maxum Man flew in and saved them all, which proved to Eric that he was the real deal after all. However, Maxum Man did not seem happy with Eric, knowing that he was up to no good. When Eric went home to the Maxum Mansion that day, he was locked out and Maxum Brain told him that Maxum Man had him fired.

Eric snuck on down to a superhero banquet at City Hall that day to see Maxum Man there. He spied on him and overheard him talking on the phone to his friend, Ari, where he told him that he had a jetpack on under his suit to make it look like he could fly, when he was really just a regular person. This let Eric know that he was an impersonator, after all. The Maxum Man Impersonator continued on to say that his evil plan to impersonate Maxum Man was going off without a hitch, except for that nosy little twerp, who tried to get on his case. He assured Ari, however, that he fired him and wouldn't be dealing with him anymore, ... and that Ari would be getting his 10% cut. Eric saw an opportunity to blow his cover when Ari put this Maxum Man Impersonator on the phone with his mom, much to his discomfort.

Eric used The Man of 1,000 Faces Device that Trevor had previously stolen from The Maxum Mansion to impersonate Maxum Mom and go down to the superhero banquet to torment The Maxum Man Impersonator and blow his cover in front of everybody. He tried exposing him by showing everyone his jetpack but just showed everyone his hairy back instead, which made everyone uncomfortable. "Maxum Mom" asked "Maxum Man" what his sidekick's name was and The Maxum Man Impersonator was completely stumped. This got the entire room to gasp in shock, as Maxum Man couldn't even be bothered to remember his own sidekick's name. "Maxum Mom" then ripped the guy's mask off and exposed him as a fake to everybody in the room. With that, this imposter was done for and taken to jail.

The Maxum Man Impersonator made a return cameo in "OppoXOX" as one of the many villains trying to rob a bank, only to be defeated by XOX and thrown into a pile of other bad guys.
