Mean Lapis and Nice Lapis are the main antagonists of the Steven Universe Future episode "Why So Blue?". They are a pair of Lapis Lazulis who are still terraforming planets even after Steven Universe's message of dismantling Homeworld's oppressive empire.
They are both voiced by Jennifer Paz, who also voiced Lapis Lazuli in the same show.
Biography[]
Mean Lapis and Nice Lapis are shown destroying an unnamed planet, despite the Gem empire no longer needing terraforming. Steven and Lapis try to convince them to stop and come to Little Homeworld, but they refuse. Lapis attempts to teach them self-expression, and while "Nice" Lapis is briefly influenced, she is discouraged by "Mean" Lapis. After Lapis sings the song "Shining Through," both "Nice" and "Mean" Lapis mock her. Following a battle with Lapis, they agree to stop terraforming the planet. In the end, "Nice" Lapis chooses to visit Little Homeworld to learn more, while "Mean" Lapis is not seen again, hinting that she may not want to live as peacefully as her partner does.
