Republic of Medici is a nation featured in the video game Just Cause 3 as the main antagonistic faction. It's a Mediterranean dictatorship run by Sebastiano Di Ravello. At one point, Rico Rodriguez decided to go there in order to overthrow him.

Ancient Greek and Roman architecture shows that the island was inhabited for several thousand years. During the Punic Wars, it was a war zone between Rome and Carthage due to frequent battles for dominance over it.
In the late XX century, the power in Medici was seized by a maniacal general Sebastiano Di Ravello, who had manipulated his allies and enemies to create perfect conditions for his takeover. At the behest of the Agency and Oscar Espinosa, he had Miguel Rodriguez and his wife killed in revenge for the former's defection from Project Illapa. Miguel's son Rico was taken in by the Agency to be trained as an operative.
Just Cause 3[]
After several years in The Agency, Rico finally left it and traveled to Medici to overthrow Di Ravello. After falling in with the rebellion, Rico and his allies gained control of Medici. Once he was ready, Rico went off to the Volcano Island to face off against Di Ravello, ultimately succeeding and presumably leaving Rosa Manuela in charge.
