The MegaBug's Army are the main antagonists of the 2017 video game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
They are an army of corrupted Rabbids that were the result of the Rabbids' mistake of fusing themselves with the MegaMerge now fused with Spawny and mistakenly spreads MegaBug's influence on the Rabbids and corrupting them fusing them into hostile enemies. They would soon be temporarily under Bowser Jr.'s leadership with an extend to improve the Koopa Troop's numbers and his father's approval by expanding the MegaBug's forces which will turn the events to grant it life to be the one in command.
Biography[]
The MegaBug's army is formed after the Rabbids mistakenly used the MegaMerge to fuse themselves into parodies of the Mario characters and transportation to Mario's universe through their time-washing machine, thus resulting in the MegaBug's birth and catastrophe throughout the Mushroom Kingdom.
With Mario separated, he gets help from the two uncorrupted fused Rabbids, Rabbid Luigi and Rabbid Peach, and a robot named Beep-0 to fight against the corrupted Rabbids and rescue Peach and Luigi from the MegaBug's forces. Learning that Spawny is mistakenly creating more of them, Bowser Jr arrives and took an advantage on "befriending" him as he joins him. Given the opportunity to expand the MegaBug's forces and summons Rabbid Kong to defeat them. Despite his advantage, Rabbid Kong is soon defeated, but survived as he was taken back to Peach's Castle. Bowser Jr and Spawny were both seen spying on them however and make their wait for the right moment. After an accident result in some of the cured Rabbids including Rabbid Kong, Rabbid Peach and Beep-0 to be withing the Time Washing Machine, Bowser Jr. uses Spawny to create another fusion which results in cresting another vortex and transported Rabbid Peach, Beep-0, Rabbid Kong and the other Rabbids caught in the vortex to Donkey Kong Island.
As Bowser Jr proceeds with expanding the MegaBug's forces across other lands, more of the corrupted Rabbids continue their spread throughout Donkey Kong Island and contaminated some bananas into Bad Bananas capable enough of powering them up thanks to the MegaBug's power in them and were led by Rabbid Kong who now becomes another leader of them with Finn and Side Eye and capture enough pieces of the Time Washing Machine to ensure the heroes never escape. Rabbid Peach and Beep-0 soon gain assistance from Donkey Kong and Rabbid Cranky, another fused parody resembling Cranky Kong, to fight against them across the island. They soon come across Rabbid Kong who sought to battle against after last time and summons his forces to attack him. After the battle, Rabbid Cranky tells them that the main part is within Rabbid Kong's base and the way to retrieve it is to claim two requires to enter. They soon manage to defeat both Finn and Side Eye and got the keys to get to the gate where they enter the Jungle under Rabbid Kong's territory then take the battle against him and destroyed the Megabug pool powering up the Bad Bananas before it explores, pulling the heroes into the Dungeon, Rabbid Kong's main base of operations. Escaping the dungeon, Rabbid Kong waits and ambushes them to one last battle before getting defeated after the heroes used a gold-colored Blast Barrel to break Rabbid Kong's power. Rabbid Peach convinces Rabbid Kong to give them the main part and thus surrendered it to heroes before they hugged him, cheering him up as he reforms.
After Rabbid Peach and Beep-0 reunite with the rest, they venture through the other worlds, where they manage to gain two more members Rabbid Mario, Yoshi and Rabbid Yoshi while battling against more corrupted Rabbids including Blizzy and Sandy, the Icicle Golem, Calavera and the Phantom of the Bwahpera including Bowser Jr. in his personal mech, Mecha Bowser Jr. before each of them get defeated. Spawny was eventually saved but was captured by the MegaBug who now possesses its physical form and heads to Bowser's castle to accelerate its plan. With the heroes now catching up, the MegaBug created Bwario, Bwaluigi and the Lava Queen to prevent them from interfering. Even though the trio were defeated, it gains enough time to reach Bowser's castle and used its hypnosis to stun Bowser before fusing itself with him, possessing him becoming known as MegaDragonBowser. Despite throwing everything it got at the heroes; they manage to expel the MegaBug out of Bowser and does one final attack. The heroes soon stopped it by shooting at it, weakening it as it attempts to escape but gets destroyed, freeing Spawny from his captivity. Bowser Jr. soon apologized for his actions and promised to be nicer to Spawny. While fearing the worse from Bowser's wrath, Bowser Jr attempted to convince to speak on his defense, but the heroes return to Peach's castle to announce that the MegaBug and its army are dead.
Even though, the MegaBug's army is dead, their successors would eventually rise up under leadership of a new threat, Cursa, who was reincarnated from a fragment of the MegaBug and taken possession of Rosalina as she builds new forces of corrupted Rabbids and brainwashed Koopa Troop forces to capture and consume the Sparks to break Rosalina's will and conquer the galaxy.
