Do you recognize them? They're your shame... your greatest failure! You abandoned the, left them to die in the neutronic holocaust! Yesss! I see your terror, Jazz. I see your despair. I know you would welcome death, welcome relief from these ghosts that haunt your walking nightmares! So I intend to make your deaths slow and painful... and very long in coming! Just like last time...
~ Megadeath revealing his survival to the Magnificent Six.

Megadeath is the main antagonist Transformers Annual 1991 story, "The Magnificent Six". He is a disgraced Decepticon general who upon seizing neutron bombs sought to do all he can to sterilize Cybertron of nearly all life so the Decepticons are all that's left to conquer with him as the supreme leader. He is the archenemy of the titular Magnificent Six team, consisting of Inferno, Jazz, Prowl, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack and the late Stampede, and the mentor of Thunderwing.

Personality[]

The most definable trait about Megadeath is that he has not even the slightest limit the other Decepticons have. A man so ruthlessly unfettered to his ambitions, Megadeath only elicits disgust from even his own teammates for his methods being too extreme for even their standards. The only being Megadeath has concern for is only himself and is out for his own gain and nobody can stop him, even the Decepticon High Command. Seeking power over all and glory to his name, Megadeath is willing to betray the Decepticons to fulfill his own personal ambitions. But what Megadeath enjoys the most is the suffering of all his enemies. Megadeath is bored with quick deaths and executions, but to instead fill his captives with misery, a notion even his lieutenant finds baffling. But his desire to prioritize enjoyment over efficiency proves to be his downfall when thanks to Silverolt's encouragement the Magnificent Six is able to free themselves from his cells. A man unwilling to face defeat, Megadeath is willing to blow himself up if it means a chance of having the final laugh against the Autobots and not properly face the consequences of his crimes against the Transformer race.

Biography[]

Megadeath was a Decepticon General during the early stages of the Great War waged by Megatron that plagued Cybertron. Operating on a "nuke and conquer" policy, Megadeath sought the utilization of neutron bombs to purge entire regions of life for the Decepticons to conquer. However, the High Command found such methods too extreme and forbad Megadeath from ever using the neutron bombs. Outraged by this, Megadeath goes behind the High Command's back to use the neutron bombs himself, building himself an army of followers with his follower Thunderwing as his protege, in hopes of taking over the Decepticons.

Planting neutron all across the region of Stanix so that he can nuke it entirely, a group of Autobots called the "Magnificent Six" start interfering with his operations by stopping a group of Megadeath's men from killing the neutral inhabitants living inside the city of Yuss within the Stannix region. Fearing his plans will be exposed, Megadeath orders his forces to lay siege against Yuss, forcing the Autobots to hole up inside the city until the neutralist sold them out to the Decepticons in hope fo protection. Capturing them, Megadeath subjects them to a week long torture that saw the team horrifically tortured mentally and phsyically to the point of seeking death, while he has Stampede forced to watch their suffering.

On the final day, Megadeath gives the team blasters offered a free shot at him, and if they do it before he kills Stampede in his 6-second countdown, his men will allow them to go free, otherwise Megadeath will leave them to rot in their cells before he nukes Stannix. But the torture has left the Autobots so broken and disoriented they were unable to comprehend what was actually happening before Megadeath coldly snaps Stampede's neck. He then plays one final sadistic mindgame with the Autobots. he sets them free to flee before he nukes Yuss and in turn, most of the Stannix region, but has the neutralist captive within the city with only 2 hours left before the bombs go off. The team would either risk their lives saving the people who had betrayed them or flee to safety forever carrying the guilt of leaving dozens of civilians behind to die. The Autobots then ambush Megadeath to force the location of the neutralists from him, but Megadeath persists on how he would rather die than lose to the Autobots. As a result, the Autobots are forced to flee Yuss before the bombs set off, turning Yuss into the irradiated wasteland called the Acid Wastes and Megadeath and the civilians presumed dead. The Magnificent Six, forever consumed with guilt fake amnesia tolive with their conscious on letting the horrible events happened and Megadeath's name was forever condemned in history by both Autobots and Decepticons.

However, millions of years later when the Autobots returned to Cyebrtron to find a way to deal with the oncoming threat of Unicron, what all survived of the Magnificent Six was assigned with Silverbolt to go into the Acid Wastes to find where the Underbase used to stand. There, the 6 Autobots discover a far more horrible truth to what actually happened when the bombs set off. Megadeath is revealed to have survived and so did the civilians, who were now turned into feral mutants by the radioactive fallout and were now becoming Megadeath's slaves. Hoping to inflict even worse torture to the Autobots than he did last time, this became Megadeath's undoing when thanks to Silverbolt's encouragement, stand up to Megatron and beat him down. Refraining from killing Megadeath to instead hand him over to justice and face proper consequences for his crimes. But Megadeath then spitefully destroys the nuclear reactor on his chest and self-destruct, forcing the Autobots to flee.
