Megan Macey is a fictional character and major protagonist in the ITV British soap opera Emmerdale. She debuted on 21st February 2012 and became one of the show's main characters up until her departure on 27th August 2019.

She was portrayed by Gaynor Faye.

Biography

Megan Macey first came to Emmerdale in February 2012 as the half-sister of businessman Declan Macey. They had an estranged reunion and Megan became hostile towards his fiancé Katie Sugden, leading to a conflict between them that involved Megan throwing a cake at Katie on their wedding day.

Later on Megan was joined by her son Robbie Lawson, who proved to be a wayward that included sexually harassing Katie at one stage. Even when Megan found out the truth she still didn't trust Katie and continued to defend Robbie against Declan's objections.

In 2013, Megan turned her attention to local resident Rachel Beckle and her family by attempting to evict them from the village. Megan later goaded Rachel and insulted her family that led to Rachel punching Megan, who in turn forced the family to vacate the house in exchange for not calling the police. However, Megan later changed her mind after her young relative Sean Spencer held a grudge against her that culminated with him being rushed to hospital after suffering an electric shock in front of her.

Towards the end of the year, Megan found herself facing Declan's wrath due to his financial problems. He later saved her from a fire at Home Farm that he started. Then afterwards, he formed a relationship with Charity Dingle just as Megan had recovered from her injuries. Megan became distrustful of Charity and the pair embarked on a lengthy quarrel that ended with Declan fleeing the village after accidentally killing Robbie, which left Megan heartbroken by the loss of her son and brother respectively.

In 2015, Megan formed a relationship with Charity's ex-husband Jai Sharma and they got married. But it didn't last for too long and she divorced him after he betrayed her through his own scheming and lies. However, they made peace after she got pregnant and gave birth to their daughter Eliza.

Months later, Megan got romantically involved with ex-convict Frank Clayton. They originally dated until he had a fling with Charity, after which Megan punched Charity upon learning of their dalliance in The Woolpack public house. It was then Megan dated Frank's love rival Graham Foster until she caught him sleeping with his villainous wife Kim Tate. Thereafter she and Frank got back together, only for their romance to end in tragedy when Frank got killed in a fire explosion. Megan then left the village to start a new life for herself and Eliza respectively.
