Megastorm is a major antagonist in Beast Wars II. He is the brother of Galvatron and the Duke of Destruction of the Predacons. He schemes to overthrow his brother though is rarely successful in his attempts.
He later becomes Gigastorm after being exposed to Angolmois energy.
History[]
Megastorm accompanied the other Predacons to the planet Gaea. When Galvatron was knocked out for a brief period, Megastorm temporarily took command of the Predacons. However, Megastorm did not want to give up his power and over the course of the series he would make several attempts to overthrow his brother as leader of the Predacons.
Starscream at one point offered to safely expose Megastorm to Angolmois to grant him even more power. Megastorm agreed and, despite the whole thing being a trap by Starscream to seize control of the Predacons, Megastorm was able safely emerge with a more powerful form, from then on going by the name Gigastorm.
When Gigastorm made another attempt to seize power, Galvatron realized he couldn't ignore his brother's ambitions any longer. Galvatron fought and defeated Gigastorm, putting him in his place.
Gigastorm eventually started to become jealous of Lio Junior, the son of Lio Convoy, the leader of the Maximals, as he believed his brother had far more respect for him than he did with Gigastorm.
During the final battle aboard the artificial planet Nemesis, Gigastorm was given the chance to prove himself by Galvatron by defeating the combined form of Lio Convoy and Lio Junior. Despite trying his best, Gigastorm was unable to triumph, and tearfully apologized to his brother for his failure. Galvatron commended his brother for his fighting before turning to face the Maximal himself.
Gigastorm was later taken out into space by the Cyborg Beasts as they escaped the collapsing Nemesis.
