Megatox is a minor antagonist in Sonic the Comic comic book series. He used to be a scientist working in Chemical Plant Zone, until a freak accident turned him into a creature composed of the deadly Mega Mack substance. Since then, he strived to do exactly what the Mega Mack was intended for - kill Sonic the Hedgehog.

Past[]
An unnamed scientist used to work for Dr. Ivo Robotnik in the Chemical Plant, creating a poisionous substance named Mega Mack. One day, his working compartment got flooded with Mega Mack, which disintegrated his body, but somehow allowed his mind to become one with the deadly chemical. Since then, he lurked in the sewers of the plant, waiting for Sonic to come in and fall into his clutches.
Sonic the Comic[]
During a mission to rescue slave workers from the Chemical Plant, Sonic had to lead them through the sewers. There, the Mega Mack began affecting him, and Megatox revealed himself, attempting to use his powers to take down the hedgehog for good. It was difficult for Sonic to subdue an enemy made out of liquid, especially one that was poisoning him, so he instead used his super speed to eject Megatox's body outdoors and scatter it all over the countryside.
Megatox, however, would survive, and spend years reassembling his body drop by drop. Eventually, he returned to the Chemical Plant Zone, then run by the Marxio Brothers, and caused the plant's systems to malfunction, threatening to implode it. The Marxios called Sonic and Tails for help, and Megatox reintroduced himself to the hedgehog, who had by that time forgotten about his enemy's existence. The villain revealed his plan to flood the Emerald Hill Zone with Mega Mack, making it uninhabitable for the next hundred years. Additionally, due to absorbing electricity, he could now solidify his body and become stronger as a consequence. Sonic defeated him by catching a moment to strike him while he was in a solid state, knocking him out. After that, Megatox's body was swept up and put into a reinforced container by the plant's personnel.
After achieving god-like powers with the Chaos Emeralds, Robotnik used them to bring back some of Sonic's enemies from the past, including Megatox, but they were all defeated by the hedgehog. Megatox likely returned to being contained after Knuckles depowered Robotnik.
Sonic the Comic Online![]
Megatox was eventually retrieved by the Drakon Empire and took part in the New Robotnik Empire's first battle. Sonic encountered him during the battle, and enraged him by misnaming him "Toxley".

- According to Nigel Kitching, the only reason he brought Megatox back after years of him being absent was because his son liked the character.
