Megatron, sometimes formerly known as D-16, is the main antagonist of Hasbro's Transformers franchise. He is the leader of the Decepticons and, save for very few exceptions, is consistently portrayed as a ruthless warlord lusting for power and dominance of the universe. He is the arch-nemesis of Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots.
