Megatron is the main antagonist of the 2007 video game Transformers: The Game. He is the extremely powerful, destructive, and warmongering leader of the Decepticons who started a civil war on Cybertron which turned the planet into a wasteland and he is now hell-bent on destroying humankind and the Earth. His cause has led to him coming into conflict with his former brother-in-arms and arch-nemesis, Optimus Prime.
He was voiced by Frank Welker, who also played most of his incarnations, Soundwave in the G1 cartoon, the live-action films and the Aligned continuity, the Kandarian Demon in The Evil Dead, Dr. Viper in S.W.A.T. Kats, the Red Death in How to Train Your Dragon and Unicron (while possessing Megatron) in Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising.
Biography[]
Past[]
Before the war, he was considered a brother by Optimus and a member of Cybertron's powerful empire in strive to bring only peace and justice. Megatron, however, becomes hungry for power and betrays his allies, forming the Decepticons and sparking the Great War between Autobots and Decepticons. As many years passed, he destroyed many Autobots who fought against him and destroyed Cybertron, turning it into a barren wasteland in the progress. He soon focuses his attention on searching for the AllSpark and followed it to Earth where he crashes into Antarctica, thus became frozen.
Many years later, When Archibald Witwicky found the Decepticon warlord, he accidentally briefly activated Megatron who inscribed his navigational data on him through the glasses, encrypting a code that shares the knowledge of the AllSpark's location and his whereabouts if his fellow Decepticons are to arrive. He and the AllSpark were soon found by Sector Seven and both placed in the Hover Dam with the dam's construction concealing their energy signatures.
Transformers: The Game[]
Autobot Campaign[]
After the Autobots learn of the AllSpark's location on Earth and gain enough data through Archibald's glasses. The Autobot, Bumblebee, was able to discover the AllSpark and disables the grids that were blocking him from gaining access but also accidentally awakened Megatron. With Megatron's upper-half free, he begins shooting at Bumblebee to attempt to kill him from retrieving the AllSpark but couldn't. Despite this, he made contact with the other Decepticons on Earth. Starscream and Blackout eventually found him at the dam after blasting a hole in it and kneeling before the latter. He led a Decepticon assault on Mission City to attempt to defeat the Autobots and have his advantage to claim the AllSpark, but Starscream and his other Decepticon lieutenants died during the battle and Megatron met his defeat by the hands of Optimus Prime. In one final attempt, he briefly reactivates and tried to kill Optimus only for him to place the AllSpark into his chest, killing the Decepticon leader for good.
After his death, Shockwave, who survived his battle against Optimus, took his place as leader and led a final assault on Optimus, but Shockwave and the remaining Decepticons met their end, putting Megatron's legacy in vain.
Decepticon Campaign[]
The knowledge of Megatron's encrypted code was given to the second in command of the Decepticon forces, Starscream, who learned of the AllSpark's presence on Earth, had summoned Blackout and Scorponok to investigate it. He then proceeded to the SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar and destroyed the human interference. Yet the only knowledge gain was the codes encrypted in the glasses in possession of Sam Witwicky. Barricade and Frenzy are both summoned to Tranquility where they went to find Sam, but Bumblebee and Sector Seven tried to stop them. Despite this, Barricade succeeded on finding the glasses and gave the information to Starscream where he united the Decepticons and destroyed a human base not far from the Hoover Dam. Starscream and Blackout freed Megatron and kneeled to him. Megatron led the Decepticons to assault Mission City and defeated the Autobots there as well as Optimus Prime. Megatron, now successful at retrieving the AllSpark, found a way to absorb it into his chest without getting himself killed and raised a new Decepticon empire by transforming Earth's machines into his minions and razing the planet. He then made the Lincoln Memorial as his throne and orders Barricade to finish the rest of humanity and proceeds to conquer the rest of the universe.
At some point he later returned to Cybertron where he would find the remaining surviving Autobots still on Cybertron. They tried to risk their lives to defeat him, but, like the Autobots before them, perished by the hands of Megatron.
Transformers Autobots/Decepticons[]
Transformers Autobots[]
Once free from his cryo-stasis, Megatron arrived in Tranquility to steal the AllSpark from the Autobots. Once Optimus Prime arrived, Megatron used the Cube to create several Energon Drones to kill him, leading to the Autobot Create-A-Bot fight him and eventually hit the Decepticon Leader in the chest with it, weakening him. After a tiresome battle with Optimus, the Autobot Leader emerges victorious, and plans to kill him with the AllSpark. Megatron objects it, claiming that it would destroy the Cube and preventing him from bringing Cybertron back to life. Optimus, however, decided it was a worthy sacrifice to stop the Decepticon Leader, and killed him.
Transformers Decepticons[]
Upon being found on Earth, the Decepticons planned to free him from Hoover Dam, but Starscream and the Decepticon Create-A-Bot were planning to kill him. Eventually, the Create-A-Bot found out the truth behind Starscream deceiving nature, and so decided to help the others in freeing him. Upon being free, Megatron kills Jazz, and travels to Tranquility, where he orders the Decepticons to tear the city apart in search for the AllSpark and not to let any Autobot stand in their way. The Decepticon Leader was chasing after his traitorous Second-in-Command until Optimus blocked him and after a long battle, Megatron kills Optimus. Directly after Megatron's battle, Starscream challenges him to decide who the true leader of the Decepticons is, and shoots him with a barrage of missles before leaving. Megatron asks the Create-A-Bot to follow him to victory, who agrees.
Arriving at the Cassino Strip after Create-A-Bot hit Starscream in the chest with the AllSpark before the latter got away, Megatron chased after him again. After a tiresome chase mixed with an even tiresome battle, the Decepticon Leader finally caught up to the Decepticon Air Commander, who insulted Megatron about not being the last to try and usurp him since there would might be someone who may try to follow his steps and challenge Megatron's leadership, something the Decepticon Leader responded that they would suffer Starscream's exact same fate, before killing him by cannibalizing his spark.
After that, Megatron finds the Create-A-Bot heavily damaged due to his initial battle with Starscream. Deciding that he was too damaged be kept alive, Megatron also kills him, claiming that repairing him would be a waste of resources and that the weak only serve to benefit the strong, before flying away.

Trivia[]
- This was the first time a Megatron was voiced by Frank Welker since the original.
- In Transformers: The Game, Megatron possibly has the cheatiest transformation animation of all characters, with his entire torso vanishing for a few frames while his legs just shrink into his undercarriage.
- In Transformers: Decepticons, Megatron kills Starscream for his betrayal. Ironically, Megatron killing the Create-A-Bot after his fight against Starscream and disregarding the lives of his fallen Decepticon followers is also an act of betrayal.
- Also Megatron killing the Create-A-Bot was foreshadowed by Barricade in the level: Reinforcements, where Barricade tells the player: Starscream's the type who'd kill you in your sleep. Megatron would have the ball barring's to do it to your face.
