Biography[]
The Mimic: Origins[]
NOTE: The book 1 lore is being revamped meaning The Mimic: Origins is now longer canon to the book 1 storyline. Megumi's lore is also being changed so this section will need re-writing when her new lore gets revealed.
Megumi was born in 1852 during the Edo Period. She was once a servant of the Imperial Palace and was also interested in reading its library's books. She would read them all day after day. Her favorite story was about a prince of nobility falling in love with a low and mere servant. However, she never liked the ending much. The servant lost a child in the end, so was her love really worth it? What she didn't know was that the Imperial Palace did take a liking for him.
A few years later, she wasn't as respected as she was once as a servant. She would always keep a knife with her at all times after she lost something she made with love. One day, she read a book about an orphanage, and of a girl who was bullied by the other kids for being disabled. The girl was even rejected by her own mother when she needed her the most.
Megumi felt sorry for her and goes to the orphanage that happens to be next to the Imperial Palace. That's where he spot the disabled girl. Everyone looked at her like she was a disgrace, someone who wasn't supposed to be born in this society of considered people of "perfection." Megumi again felt sorry for her and eventually saved up enough money to take her home. She even treated her like she was her own offspring.
After working all day and all night, Megumi finally saved up enough money for Kuriko's birthday (little did she know that Hana would disappear that same night). However, when she went to see Kuriko, she was crawling on all fours. Megumi tried to defend herself, but she swore that she never hurt anyone. Megumi bent down to hug Kuriko, returning her back to normal. Kuriko cried as she sat in Megumi's arms. Kuriko celebrated her birthday with Megumi before she had to go to bed.
She left the next day, only for to be told to stay for a few months. During that time, she began to worry a lot over Kuriko, even going to the point of falling ill. She eventually worked at the point of exhaustion. Megumi then walked into the library to read some books where she finds a book called "The Girl and The Witch", a familiar tale she was told when she was younger.
She then stopped and stared that the picture of The Witch, and then used her knife the stab the picture. Suddenly a butterfly spirit appeared before Megumi. The story told that if you did something with a butterfly spirit, your desires would come true. Megumi then wished that she was with Kuriko and that they can live happily together. After that, she stabbed the butterfly spirit and began to eat it. Her neck stretched to become very tall.
Suddenly, the palace guards appeared before Megumi and ran towards her in an attempt to stop her. However, they were no match for her, as they were all eaten and killed by Megumi. She then left their skulls as part of her collection. She went person after person until she ate everyone within the Imperial Palace. And now she became another victim of Kintoru.
Control's Book[]
Yasu enters the Imperial Palace and attempts to evade Megumi while trying to find a way out. He then goes down a hallway and sees Megumi peaking at him at the other end of the hallway, who then jumpscares him. After escaping Kusonoki, Yasu then goes into another hallway only to hear Megumi calling out for help. However, this is actually a trap and Yasu uses a butterfly spirit to avoid her.
