Biography[]
Megumi Shion was driven to join Crown after her mother died from taking a faulty drug made by a pharmaceutical company, leading Shion to develop a cold personality as an adult and vow vengeance against the researcher who had made and sold the drug.
At Crown, Shion worked in a research division headed by Dr. Shiroishi that was devoted to studying the Fallah mutagenic. After Shiroishi defected upon learning his research was really being used for criminal purposes, Shion was appointed the new head of the Fallah research division by Mister Bicross. She quickly developed a rivalry with Minoh, who headed Crown's cybernetic research division and sought to prove his mechanical Guyborgs were superior to Shion's organic Mutians.
After Shion's Mutians continually failed to kill Guyferd, Bicross began to warn her that failure would no longer be tolerated. However, Shion would soon make another breakthrough when she discovered a way to successfully fuse Fallah with a cybernetic body to create a warrior equivalent to Guyferd. The first product of Shion's research was Deathferd, who was created after Gou Kazama's brother Masato underwent the procedure. When Bicross was losing his battle against Guyferd, Shion, at the insistence of Minoh, sent Deathferd into battle for the first time and had him fight off Guyferd before escaping with Bicross.
Shion later went to analyze Bicross's damaged chestplate, only to hear a voice speaking from it that introduced itself as Zodiac and revealed itself to be the true leader of Crown. While Gou attacked Crown's Mutian Labs, Zodiac instructed Shion to place explosives all throughout the facility and blow it up before escaping with the research.
Shion was soon confronted by Minoh about what she was doing, but Shion simply told him she was following orders before shooting him dead. Shion later sent Deathferd and a team of Fangs to battle Guyferd and cover her escape, only to find herself confronted by Shiroishi. Shiroishi attempted to persuade Shion to leave Crown but Shion refused and attempted to escape with the research, only for her foot to slip and cause her to fall off a cliff.
Though seemingly dead, Shion was found by Metal Master and brought to Crown's secret hideout, where she was converted into a cyborg. Zodiac would later send her to bring Gou Kazama to their lair so he could attempt to convince him to join them, but Gou refused Zodiac's offer and escaped.
Shion later took part in a mission headed by Metal Master to retrieve Astronium, a substance developed by the same pharmacist who had made the drug responsible for Shion's mother's death. Rather than go after the substance however, Shion attempted to get revenge on the pharmacist for her mother, which Metal Master used to create a distraction that would allow them to escape with the Astronium. Gou and his friends attempted to persuade Shion to give up her quest for revenge to no avail, leading Gou to become Guyferd to fight her. During their fight however, Shion was shot in the back by the very same pharmacist who had killed her mother, falling over dead as a furious Gou went to confront him. Unbeknownst to Shion however, she had really been manipulated by Zodiac to distract the heroes while Metal Master retrieved the Astronium himself. In fact, her death had been all part of Zodiac and Metal Master's plans, as they planned to use her brain as the nexus for their computer system to spread Fallah all over the Earth.
Shion's brain was later extracted from her body by Metal Master and placed in the computer system Crown had constructed to direct the spread of the Fallah mutagenic all over Earth, in order to forcibly evolve humans into superior beings for Zodiac to rule over. After tracking down Crown's lair, Guyferd and Shiroishi confronted Zodiac over his mad scheme to mutate humankind. While Guyferd's words did not do anything to sway Zodiac, they did reach Shion, who deactivated the forcefield around the computer system to allow Gou to destroy it. Shion's spirit then appeared and smiled towards Gou before the system was shut down.
