Meio Plato is a major antagonist from Metal Armor Dragonar.

Appearance[]

Meio Plato is a pale-skinned man with blue eyes and short blonde hair. He primarily dresses in blue.

Biography[]

Meio Plato makes his first appearance piloting his Metal Armor into the docking bay of a Giganos Ship. When the captain greets him, Meio scolds him for being too polite. At the bridge, Meio talks about a meeting where a ship in the Earth Federation Military's fleet is undergoing repairs and must not take their time recovering. He later confronts the heroes in a Metal Armor battle, having a brief fight with Kaine personally. He later makes a reluctant meeting with three subordinates who arrived even though he didn't ask for them as he wanted to check on the strength of the Earth military himself. He then tells them to take care of the Itanbul ship. He then appears in another attack on the Itanbul with several subordinates, leading to a lot of damage on their enemy's side. He is next seen in his Metal Armor when an Earth lieutenant gives the heroes a doll to deliver to his sister. He then launches missiles at the ship and slipped past defenses.

After destroying one enemy Metal Armor with Lt. Kiel in it, he calls it a day and leaves. Following the battle, he is summoned to a meeting by his captain. At the meeting, they speak about ships from the Earth Military. Two of the things being about Itanbul and the replenish store. They also count out the third ship. Meio Plato states that the Dragonars are the reason they need to sink the ship along with them. He even calls the pilots novices. He then proposes they draw them outside and eliminate them.

At the docking bay, Meio tells his men that they must get behind the main ship in order to destroy it first before the replenishing ships. They will then target the Itanbul. Prior to battle, he realizes jamming signals are being used. He then orders the attack to commence. Upon seeing the ploys fall back on him, Meio orders his men to retreat. When Kaine, Light, and Tapp come to save the people of the Itanbul held prisoner, Meio watches the division of the civilians being divided into two groups. As for the Dragonars, Meio says he will judge this. When he sees Linda Plato among them, he requests that he interrogates her. Once she is brought in, he greets his sister after a long time separated from her.

She quite disdainful towards him and wants to free alongside the prisoners again, a request he denies. When she asks what he is going to do with them, he says his faction will divide them into groups of useful and useless people as they are sent to different camps. He also says that humans who live with "space as their target" should be the "cream of the crop" who could represent earth properly and that mankind will become the foundation stone for Giganos. Linda considers this selfish, but he counters by saying that this is the path Giganos is taking. Linda also understands why their father escaped with the Dragonars and was seemingly killed. He also says that a woman who forfeits her child is unfit to be a mother, even if her husband Lang Plato is in the wrong. The mention of her father's name from him offended Linda. He also says that a traitor is no father of his. Linda still sees her father more humane than her brother. When she seemingly decides to consider, Meio calls her a good sister.

When he is called over by General Mordel, he tells her to wait at the hostel. At the residence of Mordel, the lord mentions hearing Meio's mission is to retrieve the Dragonars as ordered by the marshal, and he cannot say anything about it, even if a general like Mordel asks him. Mordel exclaims he is the one in charge and cannot let Meio do as he pleases. Later when the escape of the prisoners is reported, Meio realizes that the Dragonar pilots might have infiltrated the ship disguised as prisoners and must hunt a spy. Later after the Dragonar pilots fed false information to the Giganos that they are surrounded by many enemies base via hacking, Meio catches on as the Earth Military shouldn't have this amount of manpower and it might be a trap.

When this all falls on deaf ears that something is wrong with the radar, he talks with several soldiers and learns from them that they haven't seen Linda. Later he finds a phone in the elevator is not working. When hearing about the racket regarding the prisoners, Meio asks who commanded them to be returned to the Itanbul ship. When the act of hacking is revealed, Meio orders the nearest soldier to verify it with the division. Upon seeing Linda escaped, Meio walks up to her and an order is given to get the prisoners back into line.

When Kaine accuses Meio of trying to hound Linda, he noticed a bracelet Kaine received from Linda and grabs him by the wrist. In the interrogation room, Meio points out that Kaine and Tapp must have a third member, Light. After Linda is taken back to Meio, he is quite furious with her and asks why she gave Kaine the necklace, she exclaims that having someone like Meio as a brother make her feel ashamed and snatches his gun when he was distracted. After running off, saying goodbye to him. When he asks where the wireless communication was sent, she exclaims it was from one of the Dragonars.

After the prisoners escape along with the Dragonar pilots, Meio heads out himself and gets into another fight with Kaine in his Dragonar which ends when General Modd order Meio and Kaine to be fired at. Shortly after, an improvised bomb Kaine used triggers the destruction of the base, killing all Giganos personnel inside. Later on, Meio gets in contact with another ship and requests permission to board. After his boarding was permitted, he meets up with three soldiers and tells them that he has no time to lecture them. The three resolve to destroy the Dragonars, but Meio warns them not to destroy the Itanbul ship.

At a briefing, Meio states that once they find the enemy, they, including himself, will secretly form and when the enemy tries to disperse them, they must escape being surrounded and broaden into formation in order to spread and surround them instead in order to attack them. In the actual battle, Meio orders they activate the heat detector to pinpoint their enemies and lure them over. But then notices that Tapp's Dragonar is nowhere in sight. A fierce battle ensues where Meio notices that the two Dragonar pilots have been using strategies and fires and Douglas's unit when Kaine saves him. After the captain was blown up with his Metal Armor, Meio orders an underling not to come close. When a carrier mech shows up, Kaine follows an order to blow it up. Later when Itanbul is about to enter the atmosphere of Earth, Meio gets in contact with another commanding officer, requesting to attack the Big Tortoise (a.k.a. Itanbul), but is denied as he already tried to enter the orbit army territory without permission.

Meio however, points out it was the troops who forced it there. But is assured that Team 633 is fast coming in contact with the target. Meio points out that Team 633's height is too far. The officer points out that the question isn't about the orbit, but the strength of the team. Meio argues that the team can only battle for a few minutes. The officer states the orbit army will not fail again before cutting out. Later at a meeting with the marshal after a long time apart, he watches a fighting fish with him. He is told there can only be one fish per tank and will fight if another enters its vicinity. The marshal tells Meio that even if he is the son of Lyle Plato, he will not cover him. Meio explains that he has prepared himself. According to reports Guiltorre heard on the earth, the Dragonars have overcome another obstacle, and Meio pleads for once more chance. Guiltorre also heard rumors regarding Meio's father being alive and asks what he intends to do. Meio then rides a spacecraft to earth where he learns from a faction of Giganos's earthbound forces about the Dragonars being transported and must attack the fleet doing it.

Meio then tells them to bring out the battle units now and enable them to fly. Later on in the faction's part of battle, Meio learns from a spy satellite that the orbit alteration is R0.003. However, the commanding officer cannot allow Meio in the attack squad. The officer also stated that the marshal gave an order to him and his squad to provide the best support they could. Later, he is met by several subordinates and asks if they are ready to set off. He tells them to remain calm and confident in themselves. Meio also believes only they can take care of them. After his cronies capture an earth base and report back to him, Meio remarks on how their other enemies come and will be gone.

When the Dragonars approach this base for replenishment, Meio ambushes them and subjects them to a one-sided battle. It takes Blue, a friend of Kaine, who was forcibly made a soldier of Giganos, firing a bazooka that saves Kaine and Tapp. Meio retaliates by firing back, leaving Blue gravely wounded prior to the Blue Hawk retreating. Following this, he regroups with the visiting Giganos forces where he meets up Lt. Claudia, a subordinate of Lt. Bweck, who has come to pick up Meio and his subordinates. Meio also learns that Bweck wants to see him, having been a student. The wheelchair-bound Bweck soon arrives in a Giganos plane where he meets Meio. Bweck has hated cats since the Blandis era.

At the hospital, Bweck talks with Meio about the militaria's revival and are now mass producing the Dragonars. Bweck also reprimands Meio for being careless and reckless akin to fish thrown to hungry cats. Meio suggests that they empower themselves, then head to the Blandis base on the moon currently developing Metal Armors for Giganos and have them prepared. After this conversation, Meio's cronies shoot down one enemy plane and capture another for him. They then dress in green and pass my Kaine and company. Here, Meio takes on the false identity of Paul Coming of the 5th space fleet in order to infiltrate a base. Meio provides the objectives of going to the weapons cargo, then the computer room and the "center of all movements", the shaft of the cargo in order to set up the bombs. At that moment he is spotted by Linda. Soon after Dianne Lance discovers this, he and is subordinate were forced to retreat.

At the hangar, Meio learns his bombs were disarmed, but continues to fight back. Eventually the duo manage to escape. After their escape, Meio watches footage from the satellite that the Dragonars are being escorted by truck. He comments that this is something he cannot be very sure of being safe as they know that they are being tailed by Giganos. But he realizes that these Metal Armors could be fake and must be re-analyzed. Upon using the heat sensor, he confirms they are fake. They proceed to feign being fooled and go for the real enemy. He then pursues the real machines.

However, Kaine fires a rocket launcher upon spotting him. Light and Tapp also get to their Dragonars in time to retaliate. Soon after, Meio has another fight with Kaine in his upgraded Dragonar, stating he will not hand Linda over to him. After this, he gets called in by Bweck who asks if he has gone to the island. Meio denies this and asks why. Bweck explains that he trained many soldiers and that Meio is the best of them. Bweck also explains to him that he has to relinquish from anything to do. Bweck also brings the marhal's edict from the moon to Meio that he must go tp the southern frontiers while Bweck waits for the day he comes back up.

Later, several of his subordinates learn that Meio is being transferred to the front. They admit it was their fault for not finishing off the Dragonars and want to go in his place, but he refuses. Regardless, they continue to follow him until he tells them to remain on Earth. At the island he is transported to, he is greeted by several Gigamos M.P.s as he headed to a local bar where he meets a bald man named with a fedora and trench suit named Shinzu Sion who comes from Overall strategic division, information division 3 of Giganos. Meio's superiors have plans to call him back to the moon. Shinzu tells Meio that the information is classified and it involves a rebellion in the empire, lead by a young lieutenant in the satellite division who is a loyal follower.

The rebellion supposedly happened because of Meio's punishment. Meio tries to explain it was part of his own free will, but Shinzu explains that these sympathizers do not think so. They weren't happy with the military's lack of involvement. Shinzu also believes there may be other causes for the rebellion and he must convince the rebels to stop. He then tells Meio the informants suspect if Meio is the mastermind and that Shinzu's division had proven Meio's innocence. Meio asks if him returning to the moon is an order or a request with Shinzu explaining it's an order. Meio was beginning to feel he's been a puppet. Shinzu further explains that this rebellion might get stronger. Meio then reveals Kaine Wakaba as the pilot of Dragonar-1.

Meio then requests that the Yakuza set up a meeting between Kaine and himself. However, the request has been denied as Kyoto is Giganos territory at the moment. Kaine however came anyway with Linda. Here, they meet Meio at a Japanese garden after reading a hidden message at a ramen shop. Meio asks Kaine why he fights, Kaine explains that he didn't do it because he chose to be involved nor did he fight because he was ordered to either. Meio explains to him that for Giganos and the accredited soldiers. Meio tells him that if he has no motive, he is not a soldier.

Kaine explains he wants to save everyone and Giganos started the war and will fight before Giganos gets destroyed. Meio tells him off for not understanding his own powers. Meio also tells his sister that she doesn't have a turn to speak and he didn't ask her to come either. He also is intrigued by Kaine being a knight for his sister. Just then, he used his cup to protect Kaine from a kunai and is confronted by assassins led by Shinzu. Meio points out he just wanted to know about Kaine. When Linda and Kaine escape, Meio travels ahead on motorbike and triggers a string trap that causes the motor bike team chasing them to crash. He then watches as Kaine and Linda are escorted to safety by Tapp and Light.

Later, during a rebellion against the empire, Meio returns where he is requested to tell the Giganos generals that Gigastan and Dukerstein must be dismissed. Meio tells the soldiers to calm down as they've already killed six generals. One of the rebels insist that they deserved the death blows dealt to them as they did no merit to Meio. The rebels tell him that the superiors never cared, leading to a heavy responsibility. The second request made was sending the marshal's close friends to the frontlines. Meio considers this impossible. The third request was to reform the highest cabinet completely. Meio tells them they have no right to say all this and orders their surrender. When the rebels ask why he will not lead them, Meio tells them he is neither on the side of the generals or the reformist.

He just didn't want the empire to get caught up in internal conflicts while it was new and unite it with no infighting. Later he arrives in Guiltorre's quarters where he talks about the angry rebels' strong opinions and won't accept his suggestions so easily. Meio asks Guiltorre for more time so he can make them give up as they can be future heroes to the empire. Meio does not wish to see them as rebels. Guiltorre asks him if he should believe him or if he is the mastermind. Meio reassures him that he is only loyal to him. Meio also rejects the argument to execute the rebels as it could bring dissatisfaction across the empire. Meio opposes Dorchenov's plan to punish the rebels by force as should think for the future of the empire as they cannot risk losing any soldier. Later, when the people who wanted a change of cabinet are causing chaos, Meio is summoned by the marshal who now understands how the rebels feel. Meio tells him to take the chance to fix the corrupt cabinet. The marshal tells him it will not do as they are still too young and only care about the victories.

The marshal asks Meio if they did something so wrong. Meio answers they have. The marshal also states the planet shaken his beliefs and informs him that a few people are requesting the usage of the stone cannon. Meio asks if Dorchenov is involved. The marshal tell Meio to think about what would happen to earth and asks what the battle is for. Guiltorre exclaims he cannot permit it. Meio tells him that his lord's will is his will and will go to the rebels again, even if it costs him his life. Soon Dorchenov burst into the room when Meio and Guiltorre were conversing about the current events, exclaiming there is not anymore time and the rebels must be killed before their morale improves.

When the marshal objects, Dorchenov tells him they should not care about Meio anymore. Meio demands an explanation as he cannot let this matter rest. Dorchenov accuses him as a mastermind of the rebellion feigning loyalty and points his gun at him, asking Guiltorre to slaughter the rebels and launch magma stones towards the earth. If the marshal denies this request, he will have to prepare for the independent actions of Dorchenov and company. When Guiltorre tries to intervene, Dorchenov turns his gun on him, leading to the marshal getting fatally shot trying to disarm him. When Meio comes to the side of his dying superior, Guiltorre pleads with him not to let the cannon be used on Earth.

At that moment, Dorchenov uses Meio as a scapegoat for the murder. Meio however, manages to break free and an All Points Bulletin is placed on him. When a soldier asks how long the rebellion will last, Meio tells him it will end soon. Witnessing the slaughter of the rebels, Meio realizes how his dreams were crushed and proceeds to destroy the lava rock cannon so it cannot harm earth. This however, came at the expense of the Meio loyalists' lives when they helped him escape. Just when Meio was cornered, he cuts down the group as the bomb detonates, destroying the cannon.
