Mel is the main antagonist of The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa episode "Beauty and the Wildebeest".
He was voiced by Jeff Bennett.
Biography[]
Mel is a handsome gazelle who is in love with a beautiful female gazelle named Lara. At Lara's birthday party, he pops out of her birthday cake and attempts to woo her, but she rejects his advances, due to his arrogant and rude attitude.
A wildebeest named Herman arrives with a handsome appearance and voice (thanks to Rafiki) and makes Mel jealous. Mel challenges Herman to a fight over Lara, but when Herman reveals his true, ugly form, Mel freaks out and runs away.
