Toledo Tornado, better known as Memphis Stormfront, is a supporting character in the adult animated sitcom American Dad!.
He is a reporter for the Langley Falls News. Underneath his nice façade, he is later revealed to have been plotting to summon B'Thazalon the Nameless One to gain cosmic powers and destroy the world, which he succeeds in doing the latter.
He is voiced by Andy Daly, who also voices Tim from Solar Opposites, Krombopulos Michael from Rick and Morty, J.R. Scheimpough from Inside Job and King of Ooo from Adventure Time.
Biography[]
Toledo was born in Italy and moved to Langley Falls at some point, changing his name to Memphis Stormfront because he hated his real name and thought it suited his desire to be a weatherman better.
In "Anchorfran", Memphis is introduced as a replacement for former news reporter Dicky Dobbins, whom Terry Bates becomes smitten with. Francine thinks Terry is more suited to be with Greg Corbin, however and tries to get Memphis fired, only trying to get him back when realizing Memphis and Greg have good banter. He rejoins when threated by Francine who convinces him he can control the weather.
In "The Last Ride of the Dodge City Rambler", Memphis gave a report on the train, and then screamed at the fact that there are bandits looking to destroy the train.
He makes various other cameo appearances but returns as the main antagonist in "Echoes." Stormfront was Steve's mentor after he signed up for a program, and with that Steve inherited Memphis' powers to se into the future. However, it gave Steve horrible visions and he wanted to end it so he looked at Stormfront for help. Stormfront told Steve he needed to destroy a sphere to make all of the visions go away, and when Steve does that at the climax of the episode, it is revealed that Memphis had been manipulating him this whole time, seeking the end of the world so that he can get special powers and rule over the vast Wasteland. When B'thazalon was finally released and started destroying the world, Memphis exclaimed how cool it looked, but was later killed by the very creature he sought out to release.
Personality[]
At first glance, Memphis seems like a normal and polite man who develops a banter with Greg. He seems like a friendly but somewhat cowardly reporter.
Underneath his façade, he is later revealed to be completely insane and power-hungry, as well as manipulative as opts to summon Balthazar the Nameless One and have him destroy the world, as he manipulates Steve into releasing him.
