Meridas Amaram is a major antagonist in The Stormlight Archive, by Brandon Sanderson. he was the head of a minor but influential house. He was a member of the Sons of Honor, and sought to help Gavilar Kholin recreate the Knights Radiant. He would use unethical methods to gather Shardplate and Shardblades. He is one of the Archenemies of protagonist Kaladin.
Biography[]
Amaram joined the Sons of Honor, led by Gavilar Kholin. They sought to bring back the Voidbringers in order to reawaken the Knights Radiant. Gavilar sought to have Amaram marry Jasnah Kholin, but she had no interest in him.
When most of the military was fighting the Listeners, Amaram was put in charge of Sadeas' army left in Alethkar.He gathered young men as soldiers, including Kaladin and Tien. Amaram claimed he would keep Tien out of combat, but Tien was placed in the battlefield and was killed.
During a battle, Helaran Davar, who was working with the Ghostbloods, tried to kill Amaram. Kaladin managed to kil Helaran and gained his Shardblade and Shardplate. Kaladin refused them and gave them to Coreb. Amaram wanted the Shards, so he killed Kaladin's men. He decided to spare Kaladin and sent him into slavery.
Amaram later joined the battle on the Shattered Plains. He worked with Dalinar to try and bring order to the camp. Kaladin informed Dalinar of Amaram's actions, but Dalinar didn't believe him. When the Knights Radiant were formed, Dalinar appointed him as the leader.
When Adolin dueled against multiple opponents, Kaladin joined him, but Amaram didn't. After the duel, Kaladin called Amaram a traitor and demanded to duel him, so Elhokar had Kaladin arrested. Amaram claimed he couldn't have aided Adolin without seeming biased. A man named Bordin entered the camp. He was taken into questioning and found to have a Shardblade. Dalinar took owernship of the blade but didn't tell Amaram. Amaram then tried to steal the blade. Later Dalinar confronted Amaram, saying he knew Amaram tried to steal the Shardblade and therefore likely was guily of Kaladin's accusations. Amaram confessed and declared what he did was no worse than Dalinar pilaging kingdoms in order to unie Alethkar. Dalinar removed Amaram from his position.
Amaram is approached by Odium who managed to influence him. After Sadeas' assassination, Amaram was made the head of House Sadeas. When Dalinar protected Thaylen city, Amaram, under the influence of Odium, attacked Dalinar's army. He gained power from Odium and battled against Kaladin and his team. Kaladin and Rock managed ot kill him.
