I see you have put the deletion template on the Dr. Colosso page because it was at the behest of a blocked user and was plagiarized. I want to know more about this if you can. I believe the person behind that has contacted me on the Red Dead wiki and asked me to get rid of the deletion template. I won't do it of course but still. The user is Natrinac. Does that sound familiar?
The good news: I already informed Fandom Staff about him. Here is my recent urgent report to them: "Hello. We the admins of The Evil Wiki unfortunately have a problem: this newcomer named Barnacle Star who turned out to the banned internet troll MIDKOWITCH in disguise yet again as proven @ 1:07am in the late evening/morning via his outrageous sudden demand which reveals him both evading questions of his identity & committing username theft/impersonation by trying to pose as the "new account" of another user named RRabbit42. It is so extremely unacceptable. Would you please help stop him & permanently ban him immediately? Please & thank you. - Best regards B1bl1kal Don't cha judge me! 08:00, June 13, 2020 (UTC)".
He contacted me about the same thing over on Community Central and I read the conversation you had with him just before I saw this message. I actually don't think it was an attempt to impersonate me. His writing is so poor that it could appear to be that way, but it more likely poor wording. Regardless, there's enough matches with his previous behavior to confirm it's MIDKOWITCH.
I've been tracking this for about two months so I can help provide warnings to others he's trying to draw into his proxy edits. It's escalated recently, possibly in response to my efforts. For example, using multiple accounts to hold conversations with himself to make it look like he's different people.
Then there's the threat of suicide back in May. Normally, that would be something to be concerned about for his safety, but realistically nothing could have been done if it was a legitimate statement. "Hey, Serbian government? There a guy somewhere in your country that's threatened to kill himself. Good luck finding him." And now it seems the grandfather can't be talked out of committing suicide because he did, so his wife and his son will also kill themsleves when the grandfather does.
MIDKOWITCH has tried to play the victim before and that's just the latest method he's decided to use. The numerous sockpuppet accounts used in the last two months prove it's a ploy.
If you want to save some typing, a block reason of just "sockpuppet of MIDKOWITCH" is more than sufficient at this point. The specifics can be determined by looking at previous blocks or the edits themselves.
Could you please block Goofdter because he is getting on my nerves? I think he is harassing me and I believe he is a sockpuppet of someone else. Now, would you like to please block Goofdter if you don't mind? Can you have a word with him?
I don't have the ability to block him globally, but I did it on the two wikis he showed up on where I'm an admin. What you've experienced seems to be standard behavior for him: when someone responds and makes the edits he wants, he then tells them to do more and he wants them done immediately.
He has dozens of sockpuppet accounts and talking with him hasn't had any effect in the past. Best thing to do is to ignore him. However, passing on a warning to others if you see he's contacted them, as I did for you, can help prevent them from getting dragged into this.
It's not really necessary. They already know about it, but since he started this about two years ago, he's done basically nothing to make this "so much more improved wiki that everyone will want to leave Wikia and they'll shut down because they're deserted" place he keeps talking about. It's all talk and he doesn't have the ability to follow through.
So every time he brings this up and makes his little threats, all it does is prove that he isn't able to do it. Zero effort plus zero money equals zero ability to make something better that people will flock to.
Yeah. Here's an example. He created accounts for two "girlfriends" and his "father". Based on the timing of the messages, both of the "girlfriends" went from "I'm so in love with you and I'll do anything you say" to "I hate you because you're using me and I never want to see you again" in about 45 minutes each. For one of the "girlfriends", she supposedly upset him so much that immediately after reading her message, he went over to where she was and beat her so severely that she needed to go to a hospital, all within four minutes.
Superman or The Flash could inflict that much damage that quickly, but he ain't either one of them. Hence, all talk with no ability to follow through.
I'm not an admin here, so I would not be able to do anything more than you could and would have needed to have contacted an admin. B1bl1kal got this taken care of, but after doing some checking, it looks like that person may a disability. If that's the case, she's not adding her name as vandalism. It would be a case of simply undoing the edit and trying to be understanding about it.
Actually I eliminated the problem it was first already reported to me. Plus it was revealed the user have committed another crime, sockpuppetry. Big & grave mistake on her part. Anyway, you can take my word for it, everything's under control.
& no, she ain't disabled (mentally or physically). So don't take her word for it, it's a few trick. All that yet spent & wasted just for mere attention. I despise folks like that as well as pitied them. It's distastefully & painfully boring. Trust me.
My statement was based on a picture she uploaded. If it is a picture of herself and not one she grabbed off the internet of a different person, then she may actually have a disability. Based on the filename and the timestamp of when it was uploaded, it looks like the picture was taken within a minute of being uploaded, so it's likely her in the picture. If that's correct, then her behavior would be consistent with that particular disability.
I've run into people that play the disability card as an excuse for their behavior. It usually happens when they've reached the point where everyone's fed up with them, rather than them stating early on that there's something about them people need to be aware of and asking to be understanding towards them.
In this case, the picture plus the type of edits and how consistent they are here and on other wikis is what gives me the impression the disability may be legitimate. I could be wrong, but that's my first impression and I'm not expecting the block to be removed. Blocks to prevent nuisances are just as important as those for vandalism. It's just something to be aware of.
I just spotted another picture on another wiki where the auto-generated filename matches the upload stamp, so it looks like it's coming from a webcam. The person in the picture is the same and the background is the same. The person's physical appearance match a particular disability, which I'm going to try avoid naming if I don't have to in order to be a bit more sensitive about the subject and the person.
It's looking more and more like behavior that is a result of that disability. The block to prevent more nuisance edits from having to be cleaned up should stay in effect, though.
It's okay. I was a little surprised by it, but I was thinking today about what I wrote and I realized it might have come across as an implied threat, rather than providing context as to why I was bringing it to your attention. So if that's what it sounded like, I apologize for that.
FYI, this wikia is in the process of revamping categories and how Villains are ranked. We're going to be shifting from this silliness of "Primary, secondary, quaternary, hidden, etc Villains" to a simpler "Main, Major, Minor, and One-shot".
Main = is in nearly every installment
Major = In most-to-many installments
Minor = less appearances and or works for Main/Major
One-shot = Appears once, not counting mentions and background sightings where they literally could be any character and not change the story
We've just got a lot of pages to go through as we do this. So the help is needed.
I will be busy over on a different wiki with a similar cleanup and simplification, but that is being required by Wikia since a formal complaint was raised about how much information from the Villains Wikia and the TV Tropes website is over there and wasn't attributed correctly. I became an admin there just before the complaint was made and it looks like I'll have to lead the effort to fix the problems.
I like the simplifications you listed and they're close to what I was thinking of using. I will have to put together some notes about the changes needed, such as:
The Antagonists Wiki is not going to just be a copy of the Villains Wikia, which is what led to the complaint being filed. There's actually a second Antagonists Wiki created by the same person on the same day to also duplicate what is here, but I'm not an admin there.
Since it's a wiki about antagonists, getting rid of duplicate categories where someone changed "antagonist" to "villain". Category:Villains will be used once to denote that an antagonist is also a villain.
Clearing up misconceptions, such as "false antagonist" being used to say that someone else was the main driving force behind the story, whereas this would actually mean "they appeared to be an antagonist but really aren't one".
Establishing a block policy, which unfortunately may have to include infractions of category spamming, antagonist fussing and not providing attribution. The last one, again, resulted in the complaint.
Getting people to add to the page itself so that we don't wind up with further pages where there are more categories than words on the page. Example: "Bill Cipher is the main antagonist of the second season of Gravity Falls" and then there's 50 categories on the page.
There may be some things on the Antagonists Wiki that mirror or are similar to what's here, and hopefully you'll find some useful ideas in what I and the rest of the admins there come up with. I will try to provide a link to the sandbox page or Discussion page once I get it going.
We're in the process of making changes and the admins are enforcing them.
Since I've gotten here last December I've been… rocking the boat… to raise awareness of much of what you just said, as well as this wikia's own rules. Poking the bear so to speak, and it's begun to awaken. Heroes Wiki is also watching with an eye to adapt and mirror much of what we'll be doing.
Oh yeah, I wrote Love Robin/Kim Possible…Villain to underscore a problem I've noticed here, that of focusing only on a character's faults in order to "make them a villain". Because there are a lot of characters *I* feel do not belong here which have gotten this treatment. So another of the things I've been spearheading is removal of characters who don't fit this wikia's Rules.
But it is slow-going. People tend to resist change.
I am at the point of the cleanup process where I'm ready to define how the Antagonists Wiki going to handle labeling characters. The four levels you described above make a lot of sense, but I'm still trying to figure out a good term for handling situations in a movie where you have a second-in-command that makes a lot of the plot happen. Something that's in between "main" and "minor" without resorting to "secondary antagonist" because that encourages going back to the "tertiary/quaternary/seventh-level fourty-seven times removed" nonsense.
I have been getting things down on paper, and the short answer is it's going to be a complete overhaul that's more strict. I have already begun purging all categories in preparation for this. People may not like it, but it falls to me to fix several years' worth of problems because I think we just permanently lost one of our admins over there and the only other one isn't active very often.
Regardless of main/major/etc, The Heavy moves most of the action in a particular plot/arc. Big Bad is for when there are more than one of the Villain Scale and or Heavys. For example, The Dazzlings is a Trio. They are all Mains since as a group they act more or less as one/equals. In the movie they were introduced they are The Heavy. However one of them, Adagio Dazzle, is clearly the leader as well as Group Namesake, so she is both a Main and Big Bad.
Bigger Bad would be if there was someone who hires or is superior to *them*. Usually a late or later reveal (the so-called "hidden").
So with both the Simplified Villainy Scale, -and- Plot Role, nearly every villain can be defined.
Incidentally, we're retiring the game-specific terms of "Bosses", "Final Bosses", and "Super Bosses" as both too-media specific and a retread of Big/Bigger Bads. Plus editors were misusing them by not following the media-distinctions and adding ALL.
Can you do me a favor, can you ask those admins on the antagonists wikia to remove my ban please? They banned me for insulting Mario Richardson when I've warned him to stop that behavior that he has constantly been doing until he got banned for the specific reason although I've teamed up with you on this.
Yes, and the next one who's going to lose it's wikia is Crocodileman at the yoursecretwiki which appears to be renamed from Campbell Morton. I'm sure later on they will take action against him since I sent them the incident about attribution. Put your fingers crossed for this. Once action has been taken, then we will win.
Looks like the wiki has been shut down. I try not to count getting a vandal to stop their behavior as a win, but I will admit to looking on with irony and amusement at the vandals who brag how they're unstoppable, then a year or so later, they're gone because they've been blocked so many times. Not so unstoppable it seems after all.
