Metal Shark Player, also known as Metal shark Prayer in Japan (メタルシャーク・プレイヤ), is one of the eight bosses from the video game Mega Man X6. He is a shark-based Repliroid who specialised in resurrecting dead Repliroids. Found in a recycling plant, Metal Shark wields Metal Anchors for his weapon. Other attacks have him resurrect dead Repliroids from the past. X can get both the ability to throw Metal Anchors and the ability to summon Storm Eagleed copies after his victory versus Metal Shark, with the former ability being the normal version and the latter being the charged version.
History[]
Metal Shark was a Reploid created by Gate to work on a recycling research team. His studies allowed him to control the DNA data from deceased Reploids, eventually becoming capable of resurrecting dead Mavericks. Since DNA resurrection was strictly forbidden, the government took action against him. However, Gate encouraged his son to continue his studies (Alia points out he would have continued even if Gate had tried to stop the operations.), so he is disposed off as punishment. Gate later resurrects him to serve as one of his Nightmare Investigators, being put back in charge of his Recycle Laboratory.
Metal Shark attacks with his anchor, which bounces around. He will also dive under the junk and drop over the player. When his health is low, he will resurrect a Maverick to attack. If the player is X he will resurrect Magna Centipede, while with Zero he will resurrect Sting Chameleon. On the Xtreme difficulty he will resurrect Blast Hornet no matter which character the player uses. His weakness is the Meteor Rain.
- Magne Hyakkulegger stands on the ceiling, tossing shurikens at X from his perch.
- Sting Chameleao will lash out with his tongue.
- Explose Horneck will summon bees that will target your character. She will summon more if you destroy the set that she sent out.

Trivia[]
- Due to his reaction to himself getting struck by his weakness in using kuso (dammit) in Japanese, Metalshark Prayer is one of the few bosses in the X games to curse on-camera. However, his dialogue is bowlderised to "Curses!" in English.
- Despite his sharklike design compounding the fact that sharks are aquatic animals like any other fish, Metal Shark takes critical damage from Meteor Rains. However, a possible reason may be due to the fact that water can ruin metal, and Metal Anchors are Metal Shark's weapon.
- Metalshark's given name, "Prayer," could be derived from his necromancer powers compounded with how necromancers may use prayers in their works.
- Metalshark Prayer and Blaze Heatnix are the only bosses to be fought immediately after another boss, aside from in the Boss Rush.
- As he summons copies of Irregulars from previous games, Metalshark Prayer is one of the three Maverick bosses that summons minions in X6. Infinity Mijinion summons copies upon losing differing degrees of his health and Commander Yammark summons dragonfly minions as his aides.
