Mi Fang is an antagonist in the 14th-century Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by the late Luo Guanzhong, and its multiple adaptations. He is a younger brother of Mi Zhu who is one of the officers of Liu Bei and later Sun Quan. He is also an ally turned enemy of Guan Yu.

History[]

Mi Fang was born of the rich business family, which he trains to horsemanship and archery together with his brother, Mi Zhu. By the first, the Mi brothers worked with the Chen family and they are served to the Han governor, Tao Qian. After Tao Qian dies, Mi Fang and his brother later serving Liu Bei, a warlord who succeeding the status of the governor though thanked to the Mi family with the doable, upon he arranging for marrying their sister, Lady Mi. When the warlord, Yuan Shu coming to attacking Xu Province, Mi Fang and Mi Zhu formed an alliance with Liu Bei's forces, making this senses in resistance of him.

Liu Bei's sworn brother, Zhang Fei was stayed to defending Xiapi, which gets brawl until his murders Tao Qian's vassal, Cao Bao. Lu Bu wants to staying in Xu Province, under the allowing of Liu Bei, he fights Cao Cao and that overpowering, which give his chance to seizing Xiapi as Zhang Fei managing to escaping. Eventually, Mi Fang and Liu Bei's family are captured, making many warriors of Lu Bu's forces to be defected. He meets all the troubles was defeated by Ji Ling, one of the generals of Yuan Shu. Upon Liu Bei withdrawing to Haxi, and convinced Lu Bu on the way, he making a truce with him. As Lu Bu accepting it, Liu Bei moving his camp to Xiaopei.

However, Liu Bei worked with Cao Cao to defeated Lu Bu, executing him for good. Upon Lu Bu's death, the Mi brothers continued to their service of Liu Bei. Liu Bei later back to Xu but while he also betraying Cao Cao, which suddenly to failing away not even close. Years later, Liu Bei encounters Liu Biao when he arrived in Jing Province. He would be defeated by Cao Cao repeatedly. During the battle of Chibi, Liu Bei forming an alliance with Sun Quan to attacked Cao Cao's forces, which finally subdue the southern part of Jing. Plus, Mi Fang wants to staying behind in Jing Province, having helps Guan Yu to against Wu. In much fact, so by then he following him to takes part of the next battles.

Upon Guan Yu's conquest of Fan Castle, Mi Fang is threatened with Fu Shiren, temporary the punishment for their failures. They began to had defected to Wu, which makes up defeating of Guan Yu, killing him with the help of Lu Meng, the strategist who leading a massing attacking on Jing Province, keep seized various commanderies of the south. Liu Bei and his forces joined in the battle of Yiling, Mi Fang and Fu Shiren intending returning to Shu, get right they trying defection again, which meeting end to being execution from their betrayal.
