~ Michael Jennings to Forrest Taft

Michael Jennings is the main antagonist in the 1994 live action film On Deadly Ground. He is the corrupted and wealthy CEO of Aegis as well as Forrest Taft's arch nemesis.

He was portrayed by Michael Caine, who also played Dr. Robert Elliott in Dressed To Kill, Chester King in Kingsmen: The Secret Service, and Arthur Tressler in Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2.

Profile

Jennings is a dark-haired, exceedingly well-dressed, and well-groomed English oil tycoon who owns Aegis Oil.

He is a smooth talker and a seasoned crook: in public, he seethes false benevolence, presenting himself as a humanitarian and a champion of the environment; in private, he is extremely contentious, argumentative, short-tempered, vituperative, opprobrious, impatient, pampered, and verbally abusive.

His chief of security, MacGruder, is equally blameworthy and reprehensible. He also berates MacGruder for killing Silook in front of his tribe. Jennings is almost supernaturally egotistical and acquisitive, so he will do absolutely anything.

It takes to retain his oil rights in Alaska, including murdering his own workers, hiring mercenaries, manipulating the authorities, and cutting corners on his oil rigs to the point of ecological cataclysm. His reformed dirty deeds man Forrest Taft turns on him and rigs the faulty Aegis One oil rig to implode and go offline.

Jennings is killed when Taft drops him into a vat of his own oil, where he presumably drowns.
