Michael Ridley is one of the main antagonists of The Mentalist TV-show. He appears in the sixth season, after Red John's death. He is played by Titus Welliver.
Biography[]
Michael Ridley was the owner of the company for a long time. He appeared to everyone as a rich and influential, but honest businessman. But in reality, he used dirty and unethical methods for his business. He kidnapped people (especially women) to sell them into slavery or for organs. However, one of his captives managed to escape. She was found by a man named Thaddeus. He decided to provide her with medical assistance. On the way to the pharmacy, Thaddeus was noticed by a police psychologist named Patrick Jane. Suspecting something was wrong, Patrick went after Thaddeus and found the same woman in his house, but she died without having time to clearly explain anything. During interrogation, Thaddeus told where exactly he found the woman, and the police went there. Traces of blood were found there. Traces of illegal migrants were also found there, and another woman (this time alive) was able to explain what happened to her. Her sister is also missing and the police promise to find her. They manage to find a gang involved in human trafficking, but those members of the gang who could say anything about the leader are killed before they can say anything. Gradually, the police find Michael Ridley, but there is no evidence of his guilt. Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon trick him into confessing to his crime. All the women kidnapped by Michael who can still be saved are saved.
Personality[]
Michael can be considered in many ways similar to Red John and Tommy Volker. He uses dirty purposes for personal gain and created a criminal organization that has been functioning for a long time (probably even long before the death of Patrick's family). He is even ready to deal with his own subordinates for his own purposes.
