Vinson first appears when introduced to Doctor Abby Griffin by Charmaine Diyoza. The latter explained that he wears an electric collar in case he loses control his "primitive impulses". She demonstrated when the prisoner grabbed a scalpel and dropped it as Diyoza electrocutes him through his collar. In order to be properly examined, Vinson went to find Raven Reyes to repair a drill. Later, he stole pills for Abby so that she doesn't wean herself. However, two guards spot them and Vinson attacked them devouring them, while Abby swallows the pills, shaking.
This then makes a deal that Vinson resorts to cannibalism while Abby fell back into addiction. Later, Vinson spies on Abby who is talking to Kane and goes to confront the latter who wants to prevent her from continuing to manipulate Abby. After a brief discussion, Kane attempts to grab a scalpel but Vinson was faster and stabbed him several times before being punched in the face.
Standing up, he grabbed Kane and knocked him down on the medical bed before biting him in the neck. Luckily, Abby intervened and electrocutes Vinson to death before rescuing Kane who passed out. The serious injuries caused by Vinson, killed Kane in season six, but his mind was transferred into another body, Gavin's.
