Mickey was the overarching antagonist in the 1995 film Basketball Diaries, he was Jim Carroll's friend, but ended up becoming a reckless nut job and got himself arrested, but his actions eventually got his friends Pedro and Jim Carroll sent to jail.
He was portrayed by Mark Wahlberg which his was first role as an antagonist in films.
History[]
Mickey was a teenage delinquent, and was a basketball player and was good friends with Jim Carroll another basketball player delinquent, and along with another friend Pedro got involved with drugs, such as cocaine, cigarettes.
One afternoon, along with several other players fought hand to hand with another basketball school and nearly cut them open with a knife but were forced to disperse when the police arrived.
One night the trio raided a ice cream store to steal cash, Mickey was pretending to play a game of hostage on himself and draw on gun on himself, pretended to be the hostage and shouting to kill the hostage.
When Jim got the money from the cashier, they tried to leave but Pedro was stuck eating ice cream, and pointed a gun at Pedro threatening to kill him only for the cops to show up and had to leave him behind.
A few nights later, they met with a drug dealer who gave him fake cocaine, and chased all across the city, until he was cornered at rooftop.

Holding him at gunpoint, Mickey wanted the bag with the drugs, but the dealer refused, resulting in his death from a 8 foot story fall. Mickey tried to escape the scene of the crime, but several residents confronted Mickey who threatened them with a non loading revolver, he tried to escape but the residents all worked together and trapped him a to nearby metal wall, where they all ganged up and beat him senseless.
Mickey was in pain, and cried, only for the police to finally arrive and apprehend him.
Afterwards Mickey's fate is unknown, but it is assumed he was sent to jail, possibly for a long time considered his attempt at manslaughter at the drug dealer.

- This was one of Mark Wahlberg earliest roles as an antagonist in films. After 1995, the year this film was released, he would later play as a major antagonist David in a romantic thriller film called Fear with Reese Witherspoon a year later.
- This character is loosely based on the character novel of the same film name.
