Lewis Padgett, better known as Microwave Man, was the first super-criminal on Earth-One, and the first supervillain to even breifly defeat Superman. His curiosity led him to discovering ways to harness the Invisible energy, believing that it could revolutionize tech and human abillities.

Transormation[]

Padgett discovered a method to absorb microwave energy directly into his body, efectivley turning himself into a livivng power source. The radiation altered his physiology, granting him: superhuman strength, flight, etc. Realizing his new potential, he took on the identity Microwave Man, becoming Earth-One's first supervillain.

Criminal Career[]

Using his powers, Microwave Man commited a series of robberies, baffling law-enforcement who had never faced a super-criminal before. His reign of crime was short-lived, however, when aliens approached him with an offer to eplore the galaxy. Padgett excepted and left the earth behind for decaades of interstellar travel.

Return to Earth[]

After 40 years of space travel, Padgett returned to Earth in 1978 as an old man. The aliens restored his youth temporarily, warning him it would cut his life-span down to a few hours. Rejuvinated, Microwave Man realized his powers had grown immensley thanks to advances in microwave technology.

Battle With Superman[]

He challenged Superman, breifly overpowering him - one of the rare villains to do so. Tragicly, his restored youth faded and he died shortley after his battle with Superman.

Legacy[]

Microwave Man only appeared in Action Comics #487-#488 (1978)

Despite his short run and being a very unknown villain, he is remembered as: Earth-One's first costumed super-criminal,

a rare villain to defeat Superman,

and a tragic figure, undone by the science that gave him his powers.

Microwave Man was one of the only villains to defeat Superman, even temporarily.
