Midge is a fictional chracter and supporting antagonist of the BBC British soap opera EastEnders. He appeared as a major antagonist from March 2019 to April 2019.

The character is portrayed currently by Tom Colley.

Biography

Midge first came to Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, on March 2019. It soon transpired that he was a gang leader who appears to be somewhat acquainted with the square's criminal kingpin Phil Mitchell; not long ago they met in Spain and Phil went into partnership with Midge over money laundering, but soon it got out of hand and their business disputes escalated as time went on. At one point Phil sent his employee Keanu Taylor to Spain to deal with Midge, who ended up beating up Keanu in the end because of it.

Upon arriving on the square, he began stalking Phil's daughter Louise and plans to use her to gain leverage against her father. He also finds out that Keanu is Louise's boyfriend and forges a friendship with her until both Phil and Kenau learn about this. After sending Louise away, Phil and Keanu threaten Midge until he demands they repay him in exchange for keeping Louise out of harm's way. Soon enough Midge follows through with his plan when Phil's son Ben Mitchell, seeking to usurp him, systematically provides Midge the opportunity to proceed with carrying out his threats.

Later on Midge kidnaps Louise and plans to send her to another country for his trafficking scheme; Keanu comes to her rescue, but Midge knocks him out and then locks both of them in the crate. But then Phil arrives and beats up Midge before managing to rescue Louise and Keanu with Ben's help. In the end, they all escape as Midge and his gang chase them to no avail. Since then Midge has not been seen again afterwards.

• The character and Colley's casting was announced on 19 March 2019. Midge is described as "thuggish", "dodgy" and "nasty".
