~ Miguel to Camila, his last words. |
Miguel Delgado is a supporting antagonist in the 2021 video game Far Cry 6, appearing in the Familia Montero storyline. He was close member of the Montero family, who became a mole for José Castillo after believing that he was left behind by Camila in a political prison.
He was voiced by Lindsay Owen-Pierre.
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known of Miguel Delgado's past, but he was born in Yara presumably in the western region Madrugada, and was taken in by Carlos Montero and his family. Miguel developed a close bond with Carlos, but had an ill relatonship with Camila, whom he believed was jealous of his bond with Carlos. When Antón Castillo became president and started to opress the land, Miguel joined Familia Montero, but was later captured alongside Carlos by the FND. The two were taken to Gabriel Castillo's public school, which was converted into a prison, and they encountered Philly Bárzaga. While working in the fields and being held in solitary, Miguel was taught how to box by Carlos, but according to Delgado, he taught Carlos a thing or two.
Miguel was frequently tortured by FND soldiers and José Castillo, who attempted to break both of them to no avail. By the 91st or 92nd day of imprisonment, Camila arrived and broke Carlos and Philly out of prison, but Miguel was left behind. Delgado accused Camilia of leaving him, noting in his journal entry that that she always hated him possibly because Carlos loved him more. Miguel continued to suffer from confinment from José, and later gave in and decided to become a mole for the FND, presumably waiting to escape from imprisonment or be rescued so he could enact revenge on Camila.
Far Cry 6[]
Still imprisoned in Gabriel Castillo's public school, Miguel was rescued by Dani Rojas, a guerilla tasked by Libertad's leader Clara García to gain Familia Montero's support to defeat Castillo. While leaving the public school to reach the gas station, Miguel started to ask Dani questions on Carlos' whereabouts, something Rojas took notice of. Reuinting with Carlos, they returned to the camp where Miguel partied with the group but also contacted José. The following days, José set up a plan to make the Monteros come out in the open by hanging several rebels, alongside Alejandro Montero, in Verdera's town square. When Carlos decided to rescue them, Miguel tasked himself with planting Philly's rifle at the top of the church, but secretly had it discharge when Dani was suppose to operate it.
During the plan to rescue the rebels and Alejandro, Miguel witnessed Carlos be killed when rescuing his son, and escaped from the town square and returned to camp. Despite his attempts to have Camilia killed, she would survive due to Rojas' assistance, and confronted him at the farm. Miguel attempted to blame Alejandro and Philly for being the traitors, but then explained that she left him to the FND and that he broke because of José's tactics. Before he finish explaining how he could have rated out the hideout, Camila slashed his throat, killing him. Despite his attempts to kill off the Monteros for José, the family would succeed in killing Antón's nephew and freeing the region from Castillo's control.
Alternate Ending[]
If Dani decides to leave Yara for Miami, Miguel's fate is left unknown, presumably either remaining imprisoned in the public school.
