Miles Dagouter, better known as Miles Hundredlives, is the main antagonist of The Alloy of Law, which is the first novel of Mistbborn era 2, by Brandon Sanderson. He is a Twinborn and a Lawman, who joined the terrorist organization known as the Set after becoming disillusioned by the crime and corruption of Elendel.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Miles was born to noble and Terris heritage, causing him to be a Twinborn. He could see his past self by burning gold, and could store health in gold. He was able to compund health with gold, making him almost unkillable. He was a lawman in the roughs. He was known for being ruthless, as he would kill suspects rather than bringing him alive. Eventually, he became frustrated with that the Roughs remained in poverty while Elendel was wealthy and corrupt. He joined a terrorist organization known as the Set. From the Set, he learned about the cult of Trell and became a devout follower.
The Alloy of Law[]
Miles formed a group of thieves called the Vanishers, which was funded by the Set. They would rob cargo from wealthy families. They would also kidnap women under the guise of taking hostages. In reality, the Set hired them to kidnap female Allomancers.
The Vanishers robbed a wedding, attended by Waxillium Ladrian and Wayne. They tried to take Steris and Marasi hostage. A formal constable named Lord Peterus spoke up against them. Miles, believing Peterus to be a corrupt hypocrite, shot him. He then ordered his men to attack the guests. Wax and Waye managed to fight them off and rescue Marasi.
They attacked a train which Wax was on. Miles ordered his men to kill Wax, but he managed ot fight them off. Later, he staged a significant robbery of a train knwon as the Breaknaught. There he once again battled Wax. However, Marasi managed to grab Miles and slow down time using Allomancy, allowing backup to arrive. Miles was captured.
Miles was executed by a firing squad. he had hidden gold in his body, allowing him to heal from some bullets, but eventually succumbed to the wounds.
