Miles Ingram is a fictional character and minor antagonist of the British soap opera Coronation Street, appearing as a supporting antagonist from 2019 to 2021.

He was portrayed by Peter F. Gardiner.

Biography

Miles Ingram is known to be a solicitor who at somepoint prior to 2019 began working for local business tycoon Ray Crosby, which involved helping cover-up the latter's illicit activities such as drafting several "gagging" settlement agreements and payments to his sexually-assaulted victims. This was soon examplified in November 2019 when Miles was summoned by Ray to confront one of his near-victims, local restauranter Michelle Connor, for breaching her gagging order. Miles briefly insulted Michelle's restaurant, the Viadcut Bistro, over supposed food posioning before Ray arrived to tell Michelle that Miles was his laywer whose job was to ensure that Ray would never enter a courtroom.

A few months later in February 2020, Ray's employee Bethany Platt learned the truth about his sleazy nature and was determined to expose him. She took her chance after Michelle's former love rival, Leanne Battersby, recalled her encounter with Miles and deduced his callous nature over Ray's illict activities. Bethany soon realized that Miles was not only albetting Ray, but could be the source of information that she needed. Bethany then summoned her lover Daniel Osbourne and, with the help of fellow legal practitioner Paula Martin, were able to locate Ray's headquarters and sought to investigate Miles' office for any evidence of Ray's unscrupulous secret; while Daniel went alone in the office, Bethany protested against Miles before Ray came in and the pair deduced their plan. After both Daniel and Bethany made their getaway, Ray blamed Miles for the situation and called him an "absolute muppet" for not seeing through Bethany's ruse.

Soon afterwards, Miles was summoned again by Ray to help out with his scheme - to buy all the properties in Weatherfield and then demolish the area for his luxurious estate development project. This was initially successful until Ray's ex-girlfriend Abi Franklin managed to expose Ray's illict activities, but not after many others helped campaign against Ray's development; among whom include Abi's husband Kevin Webster, their longtime neighbours David Platt and Roy Cropper, along with Kevin's ex-wife Sally Webster and her friend Alya Nazir.

Coincidentally, Ray's business partner and Kevin's sister Debbie Webster turned against him after finding out that Ray drugged Abi in order to silence her. It was then Ray went on the run and Miles was ordered to help Debbie bring him to justice, as well as trick him into signing his business empire to her. But then Miles betrayed Debbie by telling Ray about her plan, which in turn led to Ray nearly killing Debbie and Kevin in retribution; however, the siblings were rescued with the help of local policeman Craig Tinker before he arrested Ray before the latter could flee the country - as well as in retribution for trying to rape Craig's love interest Faye Windass on the same night her grandfather Geoff Metcalfe died on December 2020.

Then in 2021, Miles was summoned again by Debbie to be confronted over his betrayal. Thereafter Faye's brother, Gary Windass, emerged and it became clear to Miles that he is being forced by Gary and Debbie to ensure that Ray loses everything and that Faye is acquitted for mistakently attacking Gary's archenemy Adam Barlow on the night she nearly got raped. Miles complied with Debbie's demands to sign Ray's empire to her before leaving the street for good.
