Mirror Mask (虹仮面 Kagami Kamen) is the Mirror-themed Masked Monster the Black Cross Army under Sun Halo Mask who serves as the main antagonist of the 16th episode of Himitsu Sentai Gorenger.

Like the other Masked Monsters of the Black Cross Army, Mirror Mask was an ordinary human who was captured and experimented on by the Black Cross Army. Brainwashed and given a head built to resemble a triple sided mirror, Mirror Mask was successful in helping his masters in their goals and sowing chaos across the Earth.
Gorenger[]
When the Gorangers first emerge to counter the Black Cross Führer and kill Gold Mask, Mirror Mask is not present due to being unneeded at the time.
After the death of Rainbow Mask, Mirror Mask is summoned by the Black Cross Fuhrer to help Sun Halo Mask in his plot to kill the Gorengers.
Mirror Mask is used as part of a scheme by Sun Halo Mask to storm and destroy five EAGLE bases in the Kanto Prefecture, which are believed to contain nuclear power plants. By destroying them, they would strip EAGLE of most of its energy supply and this is thus a vital step to secure world dominance. However, when Sun Halo Mask asks him to figure a way to use him to defeat the Gorengers, Mirror Mask argues until the Fuhrer steps in personally and orders the Masked Monster to find a solution. Using his mirror powers, Mirror Mask creates strange illusions starting with an eye in a mirror to drive Momorenger insane, appearing only to her and making the others on the team think she is losing her mind and forcing her to relax. At one point, she destroys one of the three mirrors, but he fixes it and places a bandage over it to keep using it effectively. The visions continue through a pair of glasses, a wall and a bathroom mirror which Mirror Mask uses to choke the Gorenger until Peggy ends up falling into a pool at a resort she is staying in, nearly drowning until Kenji pulls her out and exposes Mirror Mask with his Midorang. Mirror Mask manages to escape by falling into the pool but not before having part of his face smashed by the boomerang.
With Peggy disabled, Sun Halo Mask launches an attack on the EAGLE Bases with Mirror Mask and the Zolders; slaughtering the soldiers at both. However, without Peggy, the Gorengers have no means of summoning Gorenger Storm and allows for him and Sun Halo Mask to continue their destructive operation after blinding and then blasting down the Rangers. The Gorengers are forced to defend the EAGLE bases as Mirror Mask and Sun Halo Mask rampage through them even without Peggy around; successfully destroying the first two power plants and forcing the Gorengers into full retreat. Upon attacking the third power plant though, the Black Cross Army are met by the Gorengers with even Momorenger returning; using her Pink Mirror to reflect back the Sun Mirror Dual Attack; forcing him to close his mirrors. Angered by the reflected attack, Mirror Mask turns against Sun Halo Mask and attacks him for causing the attack in the first place but is swiftly knocked down. Seeing his comrade as ineffective and trouble, Sun Halo Mask abandons the Masked Monster to be killed by the Gorenger Storm despite Mirror Mask throwing his staff at the Gorengers. In the wreckage of his death remains only a shattered mirror and a small eye within it, the source of the eye in the mirror.

Like Rainbow Mask before him, Mirror Mask is a ruthless, brutal, arrogant and battle-loving monster. He is completely ruthless, plotting to destroy five EAGLE Bases and spread nuclear material all over Kanto Prefecture. As well as being monstrous, much like the previous Rainbow Mask the Masked Monster proves to be arrogant and pompous as he arrogantly claims the Gorengers are no match for him and Sun Halo Mask despite the latter reminding him of Rainbow Mask's own hubris and even telling the general to be quiet.
All the same, Mirror Mask proves to be more strategic by gaslighting Penny Asuka into thinking she is mad since only she is able to see his illusions as well as sadistic as he attempts to drown her mid-taunt. After being hit by the reflected Sun Mirror Dual Attack, Mirror Mask went berserk and attacked Sun Halo Mask as well due to his memory circuit being damaged.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Mirror Mask knocked down Sun Halo Mask with a single hit and easily bladelocked with the the general whilst also throwing his staff hard to split open a boulder.
- Durability: Mirror Mask survived having the Sun Mirror Dual Attack reflected back at him without injury.
- Mirror Illusion: Mirror Mask's main ability involves using mirrors to create strange illusions, many of which seem real to the one who it is being cast upon.
- Illusion Specificity: Mirror Mask's illusions only appear to those who they are aimed at; making them appear insane to anyone else. Although he typically appears only as an eye, the Masked Monster can also project his voice as well.
- Super Jumps: Mirror Mask can jump incredible distances with single leaps, being able to jump out of a swimming pool onto a higher ledge at will.
- Mirror Transformation: Mirror Mask can turn into a mirror either to hide or to force Peggy to see his illusions.
- Mirror Entrapment: When Peggy leapt into the pool, Mirror Mask trapped her there to drown until Kenji saved her.
- Face Opening: Mirror Mask can open or close his face at will; looking like a plain box when closed and revealing a three sided mirror when opened. Opening his face grants him many abilities but leaves him exposed.
- Sun Mirror: Mirror Mask can use his three mirrors to reflect sunlight to blind his enemies and leave them open to attack.
- Sun Mirror Dual Attack: Mirror Mask's signature attack with Sun Halo Mask where Sun Halo Mask fires eye-beams and Mirror Mask reflects the beams into their enemies. These either cause excruciating pain to the enemy or blasts scorching hot flames around them.
- Flame Blasts: Mirror Mask can also manifest the Sun Mirror Dual Attack as a spray of fire to try and burn his enemies.
- Sun Beams: Mirror Mask can concentrate the heat of the Sun into his mirror to fire a devastating solar blast.
Weaknesses[]
- Broken Mirror: Although Mirror Mask can appear through any reflective surface, from mirrors to even swimming pools, disturbing the surface causes him to fade away. This was seen when Peggy smashed a mirror and when Kenji used the Midoranger to disturb the pool; forcing the Masked Monster to reveal himself.
- Sun Mirror Dual Attack: Although by far his most powerful attack, being comprised entirely of Sunlight, the Sun Mirror Dual Attack can be reflected back at Mirror Mask with another mirror; dealing severe damage.
Arsenal[]
- Staff: Mirror Mask wields a large serrated staff in combat.
- Boomerang: Like Sun Halo Mask, Mirror Mask can throw his staff and have it strike down his enemies before then returning to him in one fluid movement.
- Fists: Even without his staff, Mirror Mask can strangle and throw around his enemies as seen when he attacked Peggy in the bathroom.
