My mother was yelling at me -- in German, actually. When she was mad, she always barked in German. Such a harsh language, that. She was chastising me for going out far too much at nights, and demanding that I stay home with her that evening for a nice, quiet dinner. And as she's saying all of this, I'm swishing the mouthwash around in my mouth, and I'm thinking, "God, I wish she would shut up. Just shut up and let me live my life." But as I'm thinking this, I'm also thinking about how hot the mouthwash's getting in my mouth. How it's burning my tongue. And all of a sudden... the mouthwash wasn't in my mouth anymore. And my mother was dead on the floor. When they autopsied my mother, y'know what they found -- what killed her, exactly? It was the damndest thing. A concentration of mouthwash had inexplicably flooded the chambers of her heart. Killed her instantly. | „ |

Garrison Klum, also known as Mister Brownstone, is a drug lord that was a minor villain for Spider-Man but played a major role in Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do. He is the brother of Francis Klum, who he molested for years before using him to help in his drug ring.
Biography[]
Garrison's ancestors were experimented on during World War II by forcibly replacing organs with that of mutants in hopes of creating artificial mutants in hope of creating a "Master Race", these effects however remained mostly dormant for generations in his family. Even from an early age Garrison showed a lack of empathy that he would barely hide, while he would protect his brother, Francis, from bullies in public only to then molest in private. At some point when the two were teenagers Garrison discovered he had the ability to teleport liquids and other small amounts of material by accidentally killing his mother by teleporting mouthwash directly into her heart. Even upon learning this Garrison had no remorse and merely took advantage of these events as it left Francis with no protection. At their mother's funeral Garrison would mock his brother's sadness only to be surprised to when his brother all of a sudden teleported only to later return two days later to which he forced Francis to reveal his powers while also swearing to only use them when he decided.
Deciding they could make use of their powers Garrison would force his brother into helping make a name in the drug market, due to his ability to teleport substances to other locations he would send the drugs directly into the addicts system thus eliminating any telltale signs of the individual taking them. With this the brothers earned a fortune allowing them to start legitimate businesses as a front. After the terrorists attack in September 11th he would offer pose as a philanthropist as a means to get a good public image. Deciding he needed an alias he decided to take the name "Mister Brownstone". He would also not only continue to molest his brother but also rape and kill both young women and teenage boys. Eventually he started to both accidentally and purposely overdose people including competition or people as he saw as a threat leading both Spider-Man and Black Cat to come looking for the cause. As he was being rewarded for his donations a rival gang hired Scorpia to assassinate him, upon learning of who did it he decided to personally kill the entire gang and the leader's wife by using his power. After Francis called him out for how reckless it was Garrison decided to pick up a cleaver to butcher the body in hopes of making it look like just a member going crazy and butchering them, the only survivor was an infant who Garrison knew wouldn't be of any concern. Soon after he is confronted by Black Cat who he quickly paralyzes after he realizes she'd see right through an act. As he brags on how he killed his own mother and how he became a powerful drug lord he approaches her with the intent to rape and then kill her, however he is killed by Francis who couldn't stand Garrison's depravity.
Appearance[]
Garrison is a rather large man in his thirties of average height with short brown hair and a beard that tended to wear a business suit in most cases.
Personality[]
In public Garrison likes to portray himself as a compassionate patriot, however in truth he is a greedy and sadistic low-functioning psychopath that only desires to indulge whatever urges he has at the moment. This is best shown with how little he thinks before killing an entire gang by overdosing them and raping people on a whim. That said he seems to have some skill in managing several businesses for a minimum of a few years and manipulating the public to an unknown extent. Ultimately, combined with greed he desires to gain power over the city even after admitting he now had plenty of money and that he wanted to be a powerful crime lord for its own sake.
Powers and Skills[]
He seems to be a somewhat skilled businessman and can to keep a good public image. He also has the ability to teleport small amounts of liquids and similar substances into other locations, namely into the bodies of others, which is how he was able to start his own drug business and kill his own mother. While not particularly impressive, he is able to make an effective use of it, to the point where he is capable of killing a large group of people within a matter of seconds.
Trivia[]
- Despite only briefly appearing, Garrison earned a lot of hate and is considered a very depraved individual even by comic book standards, which's part of the reason why the comic arc was considered to be controversial.
