Mizar, known as Mizael in the Japanese version, is a Barian Emperor and a major antagonist in the second half of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. Like the other Empeorors, he is working to gather the "Numbers" to save the Barian World. Mizar also served as Kite's rival for the title of the true Galaxy-Eyes master. He was eventually defeated in a Duel and his soul was absorbed by Don Thousand. After Yuma Tsukumo's and Astral's final Duel, Mizar was revived by the power of the Numeron Code.
He was voiced by Genki Okawa in Japanese and Billy Bob Thompson in English.
Biography[]
Past Life[]
As a young child, Mizar's village was destroyed by raiders. Everyone (including his parents) was murdered (kidnapped in the dub) during the raid. Mizar survived by running away into the desert, nearly dying until a dragon by the name of Jinlon saves him. He receives the "Number" card "Number 46: Dragluon" because of his bond with dragons. The two become allies and team up to protect their land together, up until a secret agent infiltrates and claims that Jinlon caused a flood that destroyed most the village. Enraged, the villagers riot, threatening Jinlon. Mizael refuses to believe his dragon did anything wrong and even offers his own life to protect him. They were then ambushed by a neighboring enemy village and killed. While he was dying, Don Thousand, disguised as a wandering Shaman, saying that he could not let his soul go to Astral world. He then embedded Mizar with the card "Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon", filling Mizar with hatred.
Mizar is then reborn as a Barian emperor with no memories of his previous life due to the "Number" card infused with his soul. He, and the other Barian Emperors, then plot to destroy Astral World.
Goal[]
Like his fellow Emperors he wants to collect Number cards and use their power to destroy Astral World and ensure Barian World's safety. His other goal is to become the true Galaxy-Eyes master by defeating Kite Tenjo in a duel, which he eventually loses.
Relationships[]
Vector[]
Mizar, like the other Barian emperors, dislikes Vector. Mizar shows disgust for Vector's disguise as Ray Shadows and aimed to attack the latter for insulting Alito and Girag, but was stopped by Dumon. Mizar also worried for Yuma when Vector was heavily winning against the former.
Kite Tenjo[]
The two have a powerful rivalry due to them both being owners of a Galaxy-Eyes, which drives to him to prove which one of them is the true Galaxy-Eyes master. After Kite's death, Mizar mourns him and vows to avenge him by defeating Don Thousand in a duel.
