You've forgotten your duty and started messing arround with the youkai. Imagine how it feels having to watch that this whole time as a vengeful spirit.
Formerly, she was a shrine maiden from the Miyadeguchi Family who was affiliated with the Hakurei Shrine, and an hybrid between human and Youkai. After her death, she turned into a vengeful spirit that wants revenge to the Hakurei Shrine, being Satori Komeiji's archenemy during the spin-off. Later is revealed she was a former affiliate to Hakurei Shrine, being Reimu Hakurei's arch-nemesis through the manga.
Mizuchi looks like a pale-skinned girl of glowing blue eyes and long hair tied in a ponytail. The center of the pupil in her eyes looks like drips, which can change of color from the black to the teal.
She looks to wear white outfit stripped in purple lines, which consists in a jacket and a skirt, all that over a black dress.

Unlike all the youkai in Gensokyo, Mizuchi is notoriously focused in get her vengeance to the Hakurei Shrine and she will no doubt in damage other people through her way. She is cunning and opportunist, evident when she possessed Satori to pass unnoticed (despite this later ends backfired, since Satori predicted it) and how she was waiting when Utsuho Reiuji was tired to take her body and gain advantage over Reimu.
Mizuchi has a great dislike for the “unnatural order” of Gensokyo, longing for “its chaos.” She ironically complains that even the Human Village is infested with youkai, going so far as to think that the humans "lost" to the youkai and blames the Hakurei Shrine for making this event possible. Furthermore, she seems to want her actions not to go unnoticed, complaining that the Bunbunmaru Newspaper does not mention that Reimu Hakurei locked herself in the shrine for her, claiming that she may have to "plunge the entire surface into chaos" to achieve this.
Biography[]
Over 100 years ago, Mizuchi was the Shrine Maiden of Miyadeguchi Family. Unlike other Shrine Maiden who viewed youkai solely as enemies, Mizuchi believed that the violent divide between humans and youkai was unsustainable, especially for those tasked with extermination. Seeking to challenge this dynamic.
On one night, Mizuchi hides herself in Bamboo Forest of Lost after pretending to be youkai and attack humans. Suika Ibuki, who previously saved her from being devoured by youkai earlier, has found her in the same place again. Mizuchi expressed gratitude, and insisted her agenda wasn't born of fear. It was a deliberate choice rooted in her own beliefs. However, Suika, sensing that Mizuchi had fallen too far, chose not to save her a second time. As hostile youkai descended on the forest, Suika fled, telling that the future Mizuchi desired was not the kind of youkai domain anyone hoped for. Mizuchi was ultimately devoured and killed before becoming a vengful spirit. At some point she was sealed by a previous Hakurei Shrine maiden whom resembles as Reimu, leading her to her hatred and vengeance of the clan and Gensokyo.

Trivia[]
Initially, Mizuchi was portray as the ultimate evil villain in Touhou Project, But this was later subverted in later chapter, where her backstory was revealed.
She is also the first archenemy of Reimu, the main protagonist of the series, despite Mizuchi is from a spin-off.
In Whispered Oracle of Hakurei Shrine, an official book from the Touhou Project written by ZUN, Reimu Hakurei writes a fortune slip about Mizuchi as a way of cleaning up in the aftermath of her incident. There she stated she will have a great misfortune.
At the current date, Mizuchi have the largest list of crimes between the Touhou villains, this may be due to the graphic show of events in the manga.
Once was implied that the manga has a retcon about the possession of youkai by vengeful spirits, since all Mizuchi's victims had chances to stay alive (Victims conveniently falling in a coma whom they can recover after some minutes, in case of any dead, they revived, namely Mokou and Nitori). This may be relatively subverted when the new antagonist in the Samsara Arc "murders" Yoshika Miyako and it is explicitly confirmed by Reimu.
