Moby is the main antagonist of the Aqua Pups sub-series of PAW Patrol. He is a selectively social mer-pup who, unlike the other mer-pups, dislikes celebrations. He gained the ability to speak when Zuma accidentally turned him into a land pup.
Moby is a Portuguese Water Dog with blue eyes and brown and white fur. He has a brown fur tuft with a dolphin-like blue line running through it. His necklace is made of shells. His fins have lighter blue ends and blue streaks in the middle, while his tail is blue-green with blue streaks. As a land pup, his tail is fluffy and brown and his back legs, which are also brown, have white paws.
When in his gear, he wears a blue suit with silver accents, a blue three-tentacled squid symbol in the middle, and green highlights. He sports a helmet in the same color scheme while he is in his land-pup form underwater.
Personality[]
Moby, the "baddie" mer-pup, is an unhappy mer-pup as he has been living around the mer-pups' annoying singing and celebrations and finds it unpleasant that they never comply when he makes an attempt to tell them what to do, so he prefers to spend his time alone with his squid friend McSquidly. He longs to live on four legs so he can be a land pup and away from the mer-pups and their celebrations. Despite his hatred toward the them, he has a liking toward Puplantis, as he regards it as his home.
Moby hates taking part in the mer-pups' activities, such as dancing, and would sulk when he's around them. Before he had the ability to speak, Moby either would yip angrily at them or would simply ignore the mer-pups whenever they forced him to participate in their activities and celebrations—it's strongly implied that he has been forced into them throughout his life. He doesn't always pay attention when he might be in danger. He is constantly looking for ways to stop the PAW Patrol and the mer-pups.
Moby is a technological genius and an inventor. This is evidenced by the fact that he built his mini sub out of recycled materials from a junk island. He also created other things like his headphones, his pup-pack, and some ink traps.
Moby has been shown to have a genuine friendship with his only friend, McSquidly, and is the only one to whom he could relate. When the squid's sticky tentacles cause Moby's schemes to backfire, Moby would usually scold him as a result. Despite this however, the two manage to hold on to their friendship. He is also protective towards him, as when the giant silver squid takes McSquidly with it, he chases after it in an attempt to save him. He even pleaded the Aqua Pups to help him.

Trivia[]
Moby's dog breed, the Portuguese Water Dog, is highly intelligent and independent. This is very fitting to his personality traits of having the ability to invent things and wanting to be away from the mer-pups.
Moby is a genuine introvert, and because of this, people who are introverted can easily relate to him. This is especially true for those who are forced into lively activities they don't want to take part in, as all they want is peace and quiet. This makes Moby's main goal relatable to them.
Moby makes an appearance in every Aqua Pups episode but "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Merdinger", where Mayor Humdinger takes the role of the main antagonist.
Moby and The Copycat are the two PAW Patrol villains who at first didn't have the ability to speak, later gaining it in their debut episodes.
Before having speaking abilities, Moby could only speak mer-pup. He gained the ability when he was turned into a land pup. Since he kept it after being turned back into a mer-pup, it is unknown if he can still speak mer-pup.
"Aqua Pups: Pups Save the Whale Patroller" revealed that Moby likes pup treats.
Moby is the seventh pup in the series to be a villain.
He is also the only mer-pup to be a villain.
In "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Mer-Race", Moby broke the fourth wall by inadvertently spraying ink across the screen and wiping it away.
