~ The Mogui to Jentry while possessing Moonie. |
The Mogui is the main antagonist of Netflix's 2024 animated series Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld. It is a parasitic demon that serves as Cheng's benefactor.
It was voiced by Kenton Chen.
Personality[]
The Mogui is a power-hungry demon that wishes to use the powers of the yellow emperor to reshape the universe in its own image, having no redeeming qualities or tragic circumstances. It's very manipulative and vile, preying on Chengs desire to revive his daughter and Jentry's wish to find her mother to make them pawns to its will, and it takes pleasure in the suffering it inflicts on other people, as shown when it torments Moonie with illusions of Peng's suffering to coerce her into becoming its vessel. Despite carrying itself with a sense of self-assurance, the Mogui is shown to be a weak underneath its bravado and will attempt to bargain with the people it had tormented once it's rendered powerless and weak.
Biography[]
Thousands of years ago, Mr. Cheng, desperate to bring his daughter back from the dead, summoned the Mogui and made a deal with him, selling his body and soul in exchange for power and longevity. Over the next few centuries, the Mogui possessed Cheng and accompanied him to look for a way to revive Xiao Lian.
