History[]
Background[]
For many years, Moira has coveted to go to the World of the Living and thus rule both worlds in a new order in her image.
Las Leyendas: El Origen[]
At the beginning of the film, she fights with her henchmen against the Codex Guardian, which is somewhat complicated. But, thanks to Pascual, she snatches the artifact she was guarding, and destroys it with the power of her scepter. After this, he laughs at his victory.
She arrives at the Eternal Mirror, and momentarily takes Pascual's voice away when he wanted to force her to activate the place immediately. she tells her never to forget who is in charge, and that she does not like to be spoken to like that. Then, she takes out the Codex to invoke the power of the Mirror through a special prayer, achieving her goal. When all was going well, a “monster” emerges from the portal, who later turns out to be Leo, and she is confused by his presence. She sees the power of the Mirror go out in the direction of the baby, and horrified, she sees it eat him in her presence. Furious, she orders her minions to catch him, but the child screams, spreading a ripple that pushes her and the rest away. She quickly gets up and grabs him, but he screams again, hurting her again. When Aniceto and the sugar skulls arrive to protect Leo, she orders Pascual, Chuletl and Deveriux to finish them off. At a moment when the old alebrije was using his fire breath to chase them away, he accidentally aims at Moira, who dodges him by turning into plasma, and immobilizes him. About to finish him off, the Mirror begins to diminish in power, so he prefers to concentrate on this one, using his Codex to counteract the problem. However, he fails to stop the inevitable, taking heavy damage from the Eternal Mirror's energy.
She appears behind Pascual (noticeably in pain), asking for Chimo to be brought in, even though her minions doubt whether he can be trusted. But, she insists she needs the creature to open another portal. The damage to her soul is so great, she almost disintegrates, going up in smoke to avoid such a fate. She walks away, as she again tells them to bring Leo back.
After the protagonists pass through the Valley of a Thousand Gazes, she appears in a different place, moving with difficulty. Then, she dives into a kind of “cenote”.
While Chimo sleeps, she appears to him in a nightmare (seeing herself as a slimy mass being), and warns him that time is running out to catch the baby. Therefore, there is not much left to open another portal in the Eternal Mirror. Aside from that, he reminds her of the promise she made to her sister. In the end, she keeps insisting that he needs to have Leo.
As the team heads straight for the Tares Desert, her scepter appears to give him the healing power she needed, and she regenerates inside the water, surfacing just the same.
While they now go to the Cavern, Moira continues to feel weak, fixing her attention on the 2 moons in the sky. With the help of her scepter, she absorbs their power, starting a change of appearance in her, looking more monstrous and powerful than before. Seeing that Pascual and Chuletl had arrived, she asks them about the baby, being the jaguar warrior who shows it to her. She is very happy with the achievement, although her minions do not get used to her new form so quickly, fearing her. Already in the Eternal Mirror and with the child in her control, she uses the Sacred Codex again to open a new portal, which this time takes shape.
She enters it just after noticing the presence of Eve and the Sugar Skulls, approaching where they were. She travels to the World of the Living, landing in the Old House with her minions, laughing victoriously. However, when they bind Pascual and Chuletl and obtain Leo, provoking his fury by attacking Eva with her scepter. After Finado rescues the little boy from falling, she sets out to confront them, except that Chimo returns to distract him, with Eva's help.
The latter she catches with his right hand, and seeing that she did not have much power, she throws her to the ground to eradicate her with his magic, but his goal is prevented by the young ghost who protects her with his spear. It is then when she attacks him, taking them to the bottom of the mansion. Having her enemies vulnerable, she prefers to attack the girl with the sickle of her scepter, but Finado and Moribunda lunge at her, tying her by the waist. Accidentally, she drops her weapon, and Eva destroys it before her eyes despite wanting to reach for it.
She continues to approach while yelling at her to shut up, until she momentarily lets go of Chimo and the Calaveritas, activating his magic to try to snatch her voice. Even so, it is the 2 brothers who receive the attack, leaving them mute forever. Eva takes the opportunity to apply a spell that, little by little, fuses her into a tree that extends to the interior of the Mirror Room, being definitively defeated.
