Mojo Jojo (モジョ・ジョジョ Mojo Jojo) is a major antagonist in Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z. He was a normal monkey in the zoo of Tokyo City (New Townsville in English) untill he was hit by one of the black lights of HIM and became a monster who wants to take over the world and slave all the humanity. He is also the most recurring rival of the Powerpuff Girls Z.
He was voiced by Masashi Ebara in Japanese and Michael Dobson in English.
Biography[]
After becoming a monster, Mojo wants to take over the world to take revenge on humanity for the way he was treated in the zoo. Most of his plans are similar to the ones of his original series counterpart, however, he usually fails due his mischievous attitude and his inability to anticipate his failures. Mojo Jojo loves sweets and candy, something that makes him similar to Momoko and makes them to have friendly momens even despite their usual rivalry. Mojo also tends to idealize himself at the point that he believes that he will be loved and admired by everyone if he reaches power even though it's always the other way around, this makes Mojo want to reach the top by starting a specific career as a model, pianist, actor or television contest participant, but he always fails due his stupidity and ends up resorting to violence. He usually confronts the Powerpuff Girls Z alone, although as he met other monsters like the Amoeba Boys, Fuzzy Lumpkins and the Gangreen Gang he allied with them to defeat the girls once and for all, and although these alliances ended badly, they became friends and sometimes cooperate with each other. Like in the original series, Mojo Jojo is the creator of the Rowdyruff Boys and he loves them as his sons and wants to protect them from the Powerpuff Girls Z even despite the boys show very little respect towards him. Mojo also has a crush on Ms. Keane, which sometimes makes him abandon his villainy and tries to make her fall in love with him, however, Ms. Keane is too oblivious to his romantic feelings and has another crush, which makes Mojo fail in love matters too. Near the end of the series, Mojo served as a pawn of HIM, who used his hate towards the Powerpuff Girls in his own benefit and makes him believe that he is a special villain only to manipulate them, after HIM's defeat, Mojo uses his old body to his experiments and returns to his usual villainy.
Trivia[]
- In Japanese, Mojo ends almost all of his sentences saying "Mojo" while in English he refers himself in third person, much like his 2016 TV series counterpart.
- In the final episode, Mojo says "Oh, what is the use, Mojo will never take the world" in the Engliah dub, meaning that he could realize that this goal is out of reach and he would give up on villainy, however, in the Japanese version he dosen't say it, so is assumed he continued with his attemps of world domination.
