Mollaka Danso is a minor antagonist in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale. He is a freelance bomb maker who was in league with Le Chiffre of Quantum.
He is portrayed by Sébastien Foucan.
Biography[]
Mollaka was hired by Le Chiffre to sabotage an aerospace company called Skyfleet by destroying its S570 prototype. He was first seen during a mongoose/snake fight in Madagascar, unaware that he is being watched by two MI6 agents named James Bond and Carter. However, Mollaka spots Carter and realizes that he's been caught, so he flees away from the scene.
Known for his vast skill in parkour, Mollaka was able to make his way throughout a construction site, killing a few construction workers as he makes it to the Nambutu Embassy, where Bond finally captures him. However, the embassy chief gets his guards to hold Bond at gunpoint, ordering him to let Mollaka go. Bond briefly obliges, but then shoots and kills Mollaka and then shoots a nearby gas cylinder, causing an explosion that allows Bond to escape with Mollaka's backpack and phone.
Bond killing Danso and blowing up the embassy creates an international incident that nearly results in MI-6 chief M firing him. Due to Mollaka's death, Le Chiffre hires Carlos Nikolic for the job, although Bond kills him and foils the plot, thus redeeming himself in the eyes of MI-6.
